He's a very decent keeper, feel a bit sorry for James i think he was expecting to be number 1, i know its just a game but i got Fleming on FM and he's decent but i have Serge Makofo and Peter Bore on the wings on FM and they have bagged loads of goals for me and i have had to turn down bids from League Clubs for them so FM dosen't get them right all the time lol.

Quoted from Grimsby Town Website, 22:41 24th July 2012
FORMER Chesterfield Keeper Greg Fleming has agreed to join the Mariners on a one-year deal.

The Scot played the full ninety minutes of the recent friendly game against Hull City and impressed the Town management with his performance.

And Rob Scott was delighted to get the stopper on board.

He said: “Greg’s agreed to join us, I don’t like to say that until the ink is dry though.

“We’ve got clarification today that he wants to come in. Baring any disasters he will be in the football club as of Thursday.

Sorry im not brimming with optimism at this signing. I had a look on the chesterfield forum and the comments were similar to what we write about Colgan.

But yeh, just to please you you utter girl private I'll ignore that and say wow what a fantastic signing we have on our hands he's going to be a cracker.

Idiot.

Not really bothered what the Chesterfield fans think, myself.

Last season, when Fleming played (and he hasn't played in 2012), he was behind a poor defence. This season, he'll hopefully be behind a good defence, whenever he plays. He is only being signed as a back-up, after all.

I didn't see the Hull match but I understand he looked competent in that game. Good enough for me.

He did play well against hull. Was only posting that he doesn't come fully endorsed like Niven did. Didn't expect the uncalled for abuse from johnnyboy. Like you say though, he's only here as backup

Think some perspective is called for. The fact that he hasn't been snapped up to play first team football for any of the other teams in BSP or as back up for a league team suggests that he doesn't appear to to tear up any trees. The question remains though that to be our back up keeper does he have to? As Maringer says he gave a competent display the other night and I'm quite pleased that we have managed to attract someone of his pedigree to sit on our bench. It should keep Macca on his toes and has to be much better than relying on a youth keeper or even Stevie Croudson.
Let's welcome the lad to the fold.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

A good signing that will only bring the best ouy of Macca,

James will know if he is not on top form, we have another good keeper after his place.
