Might be a tad optimistic here but if we play like we did against Hull, we are going to skin a few in the league this season

slight calf strain, nothing to worry about but not worth risking in a friendly

I thought we were excellent! I am really liking Cook, i think him and Hearn will start the season together and be hard to shift.

Seems Elding could not get into the game last night from the reports.  With greater competition up front this season (numbers and quality), I sense that he will play more of a squad role this season, possibly coming on for the last 20 mins of games.[/quote]

Can't say i see Elds as an impact player tbf. I know he's all about the effort and geeing up the lads, but as for offering something different in a deadlock or to get a goal back i'm not so sure. From the reports on here i'd hazard a guess cooks partnering hearn come southport with pearson/elding fighting for the 3rd spot.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

Quoted from aaron rattray
a bit concerned with decision  making when players are clean through but they don't run into the empty space they just pass it, artus Thomas and colbeck did it a few times, but we look intelligent, and i liked when hull had a lot of possession we didn't panic and start flying into daft tackles and leave gaps, we kept calm and we stuck to our job very very well

You're spot on IMO ! +1.

I thought the same about your bit in bold but looked to me like they were under instructions.
Remember the Gainsboro game Scott was shouting "Pass it !" ?
Come the real thing will be interesting to see whether they're still as patient or more direct cos I sensed they had could have done more with it too.
I'm hoping it should all bode well whatever they do...

Sounds very promising and do you know what aaron that is the most sensible and articulate post I have seen from you. You should stick to posting about football more often.

I use to post on here quite a bit but last season in particular this board went downhill faster than GTFC did, mainly by one or two "Trolls" highjacking every thread and turning them into personal slanging matches. I'm sure in fact know a lot of the old posters felt the same.

I did  look in time to time but avoided posting I hope this season some of the old regulars start posting again.
