Mansfield have the budget for a 'wow' striker to complete their attacking line up.

At a fans forum last night, chairman John Radford told fans he had put £2.5million into the club and that a planned training facility would cost him more than buying the Field Mill stadium back from former club owner Keith Haslam did.

Radford told fans he believed the club had a top three budget 'if not the top', telling fans that 'at present' the wage budget was 80% of income with his company's sponsorship of the stadium boosting revenue.

Bold talk but their signings so far have been pretty uninspiring. Luton rejects mostly.

100k a month (1.2m a year) on playing budget last season, bound to be more than that this season. I'd say they have the top 1.

Nothing like little clubs spending their way out the league, I suppose at least Mansfield have a few more fans than the recent clubs to be promoted, though not a huge amount more!

Oh and the wow striker is rumoured to be Lee Hughes! he will score goals at this level, but a good reason to hate Mansfield even more if he does sign.

Oh the Mansfiled fans will be so happy to have the ex Notts County, drink driving killer and a convicted woman beater.

How to improve your popularity with your own fans, sign a scum bag from one of your lcal hated rivals

At least Beagerie wasn't a murderer, he was just a lazy, free loading sCunt!

Lee Hughes has been at Nuneaton Town's game tonight as a guest of the directors.

Putting all his 'problems' aside, you cant argue that Lee Hughes is not a good centre forward, and at this level he would be leathel.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Absolutely. Furthermore, I accept that after serving his sentence he has every right to play football as a living again. Its just a shame he shows no hint of remorse and is an absolute girl private.
