Tevez for starting it.

So everytime a player tugs another players shirt they deserve an elbow in the face do they?

Didnt look like a tug on the shirt to me, looked like a clip round the back of the head.

Regardless of what started it - Barton for carrying it on after he was sent off.

His defence today is ridiculous. Claiming that one of the other QPR players had said, 'you might as well try and take one with you.'

in fairness  Barton was provoked initially though his reaction afterwards was over the top.Needs to work on the temperament side of his game and should have learned from past experiences. There is some that think a person never changes but I feel someone can if they work on something hard enough.I hope for Joey's case this is the case and he finally learns from this and moves on and becomes the better for it

Joey Barton. As much as I loathe Tevez, Barton is a pathetic failure of evolution.

Barton is clearly a flipping idiot and his behavior after the red card was awful. However Tevez should have gone as well and having thrown the first slap he was then pathetic enough to hurl himself to the ground clutching his face when he got a bit back.

That waste of his wages Barton hope he gets a ban for half of next season.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play.
It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfullness,
disregard of all rules and a sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence;
In other words it is war without the shooting.

As this vote is already a done deal,

I'll nominate Alan Shearer for whatever he said about Barton (No idea what he said but apparently JB wasn't happy), cos we all know the mighty Alan Shearer would never have elbowed anyone would he....

I thought I had seen the end of the world. Desolation, Isolation, Destruction, Mutants and the end of Civilisation.
Turns out bloody Tom Tom had directed me through Scunthorpe City Centre.

Probably why he was so down on Barton - we all know Alan thinks that if you're a 'top player' then you should be able to dish it out without expecting any back.

I'm not surprised Joey Barton is winning this week (whatever he has or hasn't done - I don't take much notice).  And the talk of Alan Shearer and elbows is making me wish we had another Justin Whittle in defence at this level (perhaps a bit more mobile and less creakier than our Justin was at the end of his career, but you know what I mean).

The thing that is really bugging me though is the original post and the idea of Rob Scott winning TOTW last week.  I must have missed something - anyone care to enlighten me?  Rob's sins must have been great!  I thought he was a bit of a favourite on here.

If that's true, and it's what he was trying to do, he should face a massive ban.  It's one thing to retailate in the heat of the moment, but it's another thing entirely to cold bloodedly attempt to injure an opponet in that fashion.

Quoted from RonMariner

If that's true, and it's what he was trying to do, he should face a massive ban.  It's one thing to retailate in the heat of the moment, but it's another thing entirely to cold bloodedly attempt to injure an opponet in that fashion.

I dont think he was trying to injure another player as such, but he was trying to goad one of them into a reaction so they would also get sent off leaving it at 10 v 10.

At first the papers this morning were talking about him getting a 9 game ban for his 2nd red and his reaction. Now ive read in a couple of places he will get even more than that because of his twitter comments.

Come to think of it, the people on Twitter who are going on Bartons account and publicly insulting him, what gives them the right to do that, bunch of keyboard warriors.

Of course, Joey Barton has never said anything nasty nice on twitter.
Joey by a mile.

He may be a knob on the whole, but its just another chance for the public to jump on the hate bandwagon and use any chance they get to throw some insults in a famous persons direction.

Joey Barton is the sort of person I belive would spoil a nice quiet night having a pint or two by wanting to get into a fight!

My vote is ITV, for putting BGT on every night of the week last week. twits.

He's had more than his fair share of "mistakes".
Anybody who puts a cigar out in a youth players eye wants locking up. Then he attacked that 15 year old Everton fan abroad when Dunne got involved any broke poor Joeys nose. Knocking a team mate out, then getting arrested for knocking somebody out on a night out, the list goes on.
He can't keep off twitter and constantly comes out with abusive comments. Feel sorry....no way, he's finally getting some of what he dished out.

Was tempted to change my TOTW to Ash, who gave me my first negative. I was saving that for Realityman

Im in no way defending him for what he did, just saying it gives the general public the right to slag him off over twitter, apparently.

Joey Barton got to be.

Well what a idiot Joey Barton is to my mind he besides being a thug, is also a attension seeking person.

What on earth was he doing he could not get into the game so he grabs the limelight in the only way he knows by causing a mini riot in what was a brilliant game with Q.P.R. who were playing extremely well in what was a no win game for them.

Thinking of writing to the Proffessional Footballers Association of which I have a lot of contact with to ask can Joey Barton be kicked out, because he is just a complete embarrasment to his fellow Pro`s.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"
