Just dissapointing and just makes the great run we had forgettable..

Cant say really the season has been a success at all and the only positive has been liam hearn..

Drab game with a team who again seemed disinterested.

Not sure were this leaves us re players as none of em seemed to give a toss.

Not brilliant - I think we looked better than Southport for the majority of the game, but if Serge had been playing, everyone would have been harping on about 'no end product'.  Our finishing looked sloppy, inaccurate and haphazard.  Not quite there really.  Southport didn't look brilliant either.  I don't think I noticed anyone outstanding for man of the match.  Sorry to see Gary Silk go off so early, and Brad did well at first but then - nothing really happened of interest.  Maybe I should give MOM to Bradley Wood for nearly ripping someone's shorts off?

Bleeding freezing in the Upper Findus.

Southport came with a rigid back 5 and we were clueless in breaking them down. In the first half our possession must have been 60%+ but their keeper had little to do and McKeown made a couple of saves.member up between Pearson and Mckeown nearly saw Whalley score.

Second half we continued to dominate play but didnt create anything.

To my mind we have a 29 goal scorer because he is excellent in and around the box. Why then play him wide left? Totally ineffectual and a waste of his talent imo.

We looked a bit better when we went 4-4-2 with Winn on for Soares and Southwell (who ballooned over from 6yards) for Elding.

You just knew the sucker punch was coming and after Wood needlessly gave the ball away when under no pressure Southport grabbed the points.

I cannot see us being effective with 4-3-3. Do we have the players to do so?
We did well enough in midfield but very poor upfront. Pick of the players for me were were Frankie Artus and Andi Thanoj.

IF Hearn is here next season he MUST play down the middle

Silk didn't give a toss strolled around uninterested until he came off thank god.  Thought we did ok should have been 2 up really with Soares and Southwell missing decent chances.  Overall we failedto break them down who came for a point.  We need to learn how to break teams down that just sit back, not many 1-2 going on.  Think we'll get 5-6 new players and it wouldn't surprise me if they get them in before pre season.

McKeown was beaten far to easily AGAIN....anything from 20yards plus is fair game to hit the back of the net, he isn"t good enough yet to be first choice in a SUCCESSFUL TEAM.

End of season, dead rubber game. Probably should have ended 0-0 based on clear cut chances but hey ho.

Think they tried that formation last week as well didnt they?

While it helps dominate midfield the two wide up top left Elding isolated so what you gain in one hand you lose in the other.

Still it was nice to see three players in centre mid who are all comfortable with the ball.

End of season run out thats all it was ever going to be and thats what we got.

Pre season is now what counts.

Artus MOM for me, typical end of season performance with nothing to play for.

Disappointing end to the season, doesn't matter in the end but would've liked to have gone out on a high for a change. The game was a bit of a damp squib. We were the better team, Southport just sat back for the majority but we didn't manage to create anything much of note and they nicked it in the end.

Ah well, bring on next season.

A nice turn by their sub before his goal (which McKeown probably should have saved) so I can't complain too much that we were beaten by a decent piece of skill.

With the 4-3-3 formation, our full-backs (especially Silk/Wood on the right) got masses of space and opportunities to put crosses into the box but the delivery was invariably poor and we only had a few decent crosses all game. We didn't really put hardly any pressure on their defence despite our possession.

A bit of pace and creativity would have made a difference for us today. Can we sign the players to provide this for us next season? I'm not convinced we can.

Let's hope I'm wrong.
