Just had a quick glance at them and in 2002 we apparently had 211 matchday staff, in 2011 we had 204 matchday staff a drop of just 7 people.

Average attendence in 2002: 6400 in 2011: 3000 a drop of 3400.

Why do we need so many matchday staff? or to put it simpler, why when attendences have more than halved do we need the same amount of staff?

Maybe not the case but there may be several staff in my mums position who are still on the books but haven't worked since before christmas for GTFC

Bound to be random figures....I have no knowledge of matchday staffs pay but I could hazard an educated guess....

46 games a year, staff to be there from 12-6 at a push? 276 hours a year....would mean that each of those memebers of staff earning 10k would be getting paid around £36 an hour......

Well these accounts are from last year not this, so that is doubtful.

As for making 50 matchday staff redundant saving 500k that is very laughable Aaron!

Most matchday staff i would imagine is stewards and turnstile opperators, program sellers etc. Hardly going to be making alot of money, or indeed getting rid of many saving the club alot of money. But every little helps, and I just wondered why in 2002 we were getting over 6k attendences and last season we struggled for 3k yet the number of staff on a matchday remains the same. (also catering staff will no longer count as they are now independent)

There is only 23 home games + cups a year, so 46 is way out, and the hourly pay would be even higher!! 10k a season for a steward, yes please!

Apologies course it is! For some daft reason in my half awake state I had included us as having 2 seasons in each year.....

This season with cups, league and friendlies we have/will have played 30 games at home. So roughly 55 pound an hour for working a matchday....
