Mariners Trust board member was mown down whilst waiting at a bus stop earlier today! He was struck by a car that 'lost control'

Fishy poster 'Barralad' is currently in hospital with a broken knee and, given his advanced years, is likely to remain there until after the last game of the season.

Police are evidently likely to interview many anti trust posters in relation to this incident

Ian was hit by a silly girl who drove car onto the pavement.

He is morphine'd up in hospital tonight and feeling no pain, but says he has very limited mobility  (ok, ok -- even more limited than usual).

He's waiting to find out whether he needs a steel pin inserted in his broken knee, but hopefully he'll very soon be back and contributing to this non-stop flow of Mariners-related drivel opinions and insights.

Apologies for confusion -- it was a car, not a bike.  I totally mis-read the first  text that Ian's beloved sent to me last night reporting the accident.  In my scanty defence, she is semi-yorkie, and therefore something of a stranger to t'Inglidge langwidge.

Ian's been busily texting away all morning, though he says he feels really lousy.

Would just like to say a big "Thank you" for all the kind get well messages both on here and by text and p.m. There is a great bunch of people on here.

I'm out of hospital but my damaged leg is currently encased in a thigh to toes plaster cast so my mobility is greatly affected. I'm already like a caged animal and the thought of a possible 13 weeks like this is doing nothing much for my psychological welfare. The top of my tibia has been put back together using eight pins and a metal plate which will make following Town into Europe a little difficult when considering the airport metal detectors.
Much as I'd like to I cannot comment on the accident as it's sub judice.

Let's hope there is a whole list of new signings to keep me interested although I'm more than slightly perturbed by the depth and range of the apparent cull of this seasons squad....Should be a very interesting couple of months.

I'm out of hospital but my damaged leg is currently encased in a thigh to toes plaster cast so my mobility is greatly affected. I'm already like a caged animal and the thought of a possible 13 weeks like this is doing nothing much for my psychological welfare. The top of my tibia has been put back together using eight pins and a metal plate which will make following Town into Europe a little difficult when considering the airport metal detectors.
Much as I'd like to I cannot comment on the accident as it's sub judice.

Let's hope there is a whole list of new signings to keep me interested although I'm more than slightly perturbed by the depth and range of the apparent cull of this seasons squad....Should be a very interesting couple of months.


Sorry to hear that Barralad. Hope you're considering legal action!
