How the hell have they managed to sign him!!

I would stake my mortgage on the fact that offering him a contract had more than a little to do with it.

Quoted from Maringer
If we became a proper long-ball team and did it successfully (we're a half-arsed long-ball team at present), I wouldn't have a problem there. Not ideal, as I prefer to watch some 'better' football, but I'm a realist in this respect.

Well realistically we've just signed Thanoj.
Does he fit in with a preferred long ball style ?
How about Artus ?
I just wonder IF the managers aren't sure themselves and that's why they said Artus wasn't a done deal (or words to that effect).

My gut feeling is we're going long ball next season - especially with no KHM, all this 4-3-3 talk and Hurst mentioning whether Barcelona should be throwing more balls into the box. (and the fact you're supporting it too  )
So I'll stick my neck out and say Artus will move on too. (hope I'm wrong)

One of these things it's so difficult to know what's best - we've been more successful from direct ball this season (lots of set piece goals) and managers obviously prefer it but how effective can it be over the season ? More importantly, will we have the players to do it ?.... Does Disley fit the profile ? Perhaps.

Then again, Duffy and Church are off so maybe I'm wrong !

Not sure I'll ever be a long ball fan but if it works then great.
I just hope we haven't fallen into a trap thinking that just cos Woods failed with his pedestrian style, we think no-one else can do it either.
Generally all the best sides pass the ball well to some extent.
