Just thought i'd give you a quick round up on who we might be meeting next year

BSP NORTH - Hyde are still top but are anxiously looking over their shoulders at guiseley who have won 9 on the spin and are now only 2 points behind. both have 2 mid table teams to play;interestingly both have to play Boston who have slumped alarmingly. anyone who's not going to BP on 28.4 might be interested that Guiseley are at Boston that day (jamie clarke, danny boshell and ciaran toner all starring!)
the play off places will be interesting - 1 of the above plus halifax, gainsborough and nuneaton , although stalybridge have an outside chance of a place.

BSP SOUTH - We'll definitely be taking that delightful   trip to Woking next season - hopefully they'll actually open the whole ground this time! 3 of the play off places are taken by 3 boring outer london suburbs/towns in sutton, welling and dartford. the 4 the place is a 3 way battle between chelmsford, basingstoke and dover. dover are on the slide having only won 4 of their last 10 as are chelmsford who have only won 2 in 9.the team that are coming up on the rails are basingstoke who have only lost 1 in 8 and have a game in hand, but probably have the toughest run in.

LEAGUE 2 -It's 2 from 3 .Barnet have only won 1 in 17 and have ,in desperation, gone back to martin allen for the 3rd time to try and save their bacon.they still have to goto southend and 2 of their last 3 are away.Macclesfield are even worse - they're getting nearly as bad as GTFC with NO wins in 2012 - 22 games since their last victory.they like barnet have 2 away ganes and also have to go to southend.they look doomed!
hereford are not much better - no wins in 7 and 3 horrible looking fixtures in northampton (who just need a point to be safe) and then crawley and torquay. what price yet another last day Barnet survival story???

me too. think i'd prefer dartford as they have a lovely new ground (grim exile could tell you more), although sutton would be fun with it's old fashioned-ness(if that's a word) and the memories of the coventry FA cup match. would also bring back a memory or 2 for me after several battles there, on and off the pitch, when aylesbury united visited in their heyday

I'll stick up for the new place I call home here. Hardly wokings fault the ground was shut it was run by Hayes on the night. Wking have an average attendance of about 1,500-2,000 this season which will probably be the same for next season. Only downside is we'll be shoved on the open terrace along the side of the ground.

Sutton for me. It's only a few miles from my house

Me too. Well not my house but my mothers. Hop on the train at Waddon which must be at least 5 mins walk, then hop off at Sutton West 10 mins later, practically next to the ground.

So here I am once more in the playground of the broken hearts
One more experience, one more entry in a diary, self-penned
Yet another emotional suicide overdosed on sentiment and pride
Too late to say I love you, too late to re-stage the play
Abandoning the relics in my playground of yesterday

I can't see Boston beating Hyde - I went to that game at York St. and Hyde basically played Boston off the park while playing most of the game with 10 men. I think it would be a shame for Hyde not to go up as they've basically been there all season. I can't believe you didn't give Trinity more of a mention as there are a few ex-Mariners there and their top scorer, Ryan Kendall, is a Grimsby lad. Fingers crossed for G'boro and another derby!

Regarding the sarth - come on Dover - always wanted to go there for no reason really and would be fun on the ferry from France! Barnet, as mentioned in another thread, as my mate supports them and London games are easy from France.

I'm sorry, I have to disagree - it looks brilliant. A good modern little non-league ground and look how close you are to the pitch! Not sure about the dodgy sculpture though.

Sutton would be nice if its a Saturday game early/late season. Nice park outside. Be able to hop on the bus with my lad too.

Pleased about Woking, its better when busier (and it will be) than on dull Tuesday when H&Y are at home. Again be much better if its a Saturday. Sod's law though, with them being the wrong side of London for home-based fans they'll be midweek.

Hope Dover don't come up. Simply because it's too far even from London!

Why would that make a difference. They've been in it before. I assume they always are. Its just that us Lincln and Scunny get byes to the semis.

I could have four local games next season if:

  • Macclesfield come down
  • Hyde hang on and win the BSN
  • Stalybridge scurry into the play offs at the last minute

I think Stockers are already safe

Come on!

Arn't Boston and Gainsborough usually in a different Lincs Cup?

We don't all get byes to the semis, 2 of us play each other and the winner faces the one who got a bye to the final. We never play Boston or Gainsborough.

I imagine if Gainsborough came up they would join us three and no one would have a bye to the final.

They seem to male private around with the format. Yeah, recent years its been GY and Lincoln playing off to play Scunny. But I can remember us playing Boston (and vaguely, Trinity). We beat Boston one year to win it when Paul Futcher famously scored his first (and only?) goal for Town.

Come to Sutton!
The train station is literally a fence away from the ground. There's a crossing opposite the station with a pub and a chippy the other side. Cross back over and your at the ground. Sorted.

Have driven past but never actually been there - looks 'basic'. Don;t know if the Conference has any minimum requirements - knowing Farsley played in the Conference probably not. I'm always amazed when I go to their ground that they hosted West Brom in an FA Cup match. Must have been interesting!

Thanks for the reminder forza!  Missed the win at Crawley last season thanks to the M25 - upon realising at 2.30pm that we were unlikely to make it given that we'd not even got to the QE2 bridge decided to hunt for nearby fixtures.  Dartford at home - brilliant, day not totally wasted after all.

Easy to find off the M25, lovely little ground with timber and sustainability being the keywords (rinces_Park,_Dartford,_South_Stand.jpg">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Filerinces_Park,_Dartford,_South_Stand.jpg).  They also play in black and white, albeit not stripes.  From recollection it was an entertaining 2-2 draw, although I can't for the life of me remember who the opposition were that day.

A useless bit of Hyde FC trivia...Scouse comedian John Bishop made 41 appearances in a Hyde shirt between 1988 and 1990, playing in central midfield.

Barnet seem to have stayed up by default practically every year since they got back into the League.

We're actually at the stage where plenty of 'proper' Football League clubs have been relegated into the Conference and replaced by smaller teams who don't really have the fanbase to sustain a League club. Fleetwood following Crawley up have reinforced this imbalance. At least it looks as though whichever team goes up through the play-offs will be have the stature of a proper League club.

Credit to these smaller clubs for being good enough to win promotion but you can't help but feel that their sojourn into the League will be short-lived and it's not going to do any good for the attendances and incomes of the other clubs.

Dartford has got Burton away written all over it haha, i'd like to visit there tho. Hydes not too far away, be nice to see maccs get relegated, another decent away day.

i do not fancy dover though on a wet tuesday night in december, which is likely when the fixture will be knowing our luck.

Colour my life with the chaos of trouble.

Macc not won in 21 now, think Barnet will stay up by default!

Reminiscent of them avoiding the drop two years ago when they survived at our expensse because our run without a win was even worse than Macclesfield's

A useless bit of Hyde FC trivia...Scouse comedian John Bishop made 41 appearances in a Hyde shirt between 1988 and 1990, playing in central midfield.

Nothing new in that Les....just think of all the comedians we've had playing for us recently

Barnet seem to have stayed up by default practically every year since they got back into the League.

That kind of thing never lasts forever. Coventry and Southampton eventually slid out of the Premiershit after avoiding the drop by their fingertips year after year. Someone will probably nab Mcleod off them this summer and then they really will be in trouble.

Looking at the table Forza posted I guess that means Dover is now no longer a possible away day

Wouldn't have minded that as none of the others are particularly inspiring

you're right on both counts! think the best we can hope for is for dartford to triumph - decent support, very interesting ground and the most easily accessible from gy

Call me a tight wad but IF they do go up, it might be a good idea to all meet up and car share near Lakeside before going over the Dartford crossing

All the money saved could be spent on better things other than donating our dosh to the the QEII bridge and on the return the tunnel

I was at the Beaveree last night to watch Hampton & Richmond v Basingstoke. I lived near the ground until 2000 and I'm on secondment at Heathrow at the mo. It's a really nice ground with a couple of cracking boozers nearby(the Railway Bell and the World's End).

But I was more interested in watching Basingstoke as they will likely be in the BS South playoffs. They seem a well organised outfit with a bit of pace up front in Sam-Yorke who scored a cracking solo goal. They looked solid at the back as well, albeit against a Hampton side likely to be relegated.

Those were the days, my friend,
We took the Stretford End,
We took the Kop, the Kippax and the Shed,
We lived the life we choose,
We'd fight, we'd never lose,
Those were the days, oh yes those were the days,
Nah nah nah nah nah nah, Town!

Sorry forza, not Chris, you might be confused with thornemariner.

New stand behind one end called the Alan Simpson Stand also housing a new bar and refreshment stall. It looks very smart for this level of football. Basingstoke had a good 100 fans I would have said, they seemed in good voice and speaking to them after they seem confident of promotion.

Don't really know much about Sills, he didn't really stand out for me.

Gainsboro really fancy themselves on getting up, gone from strength to strength since sacking Brian Little who was apparantly on around £100,000 a year, they have got a rich benifactor and reckon they want to build a 6,000 sttadium on the outskirts of the town. Not sure how their current ground would cope with a black and white invasion which is what  the club are prayin for and the fact they will also have Lincoln to come, if they get up their manager has been promised a sizeable budget to more than compete

I live about a mile and a half from the Beveree (I never expected to find THAT when I googled "come on you Beavers"). Nice little club with a very active Trust.  The great man* can usually be seen sitting up on that balcony there.

A couple of years back they were in the BSS play offs 2 years running so I came within a gnats wotsits of being able to walk to a Town game. Shame they're likely to go down.

The Railway Bell is a nice pub. Not so sure about the World's End though.
