Obviously this is just me and being 3 points off the playoffs others won't agree !!!

I'd love to see us go into the playoffs and I really hope we do.

But tbh I'm not too concerned about the final score on Saturday, more the performance and how we go about things.

I'm expecting us to be a litle tired and maybe under pressure too.
So whilst I'm still expecting a reasonable amount of effort, what I'd really like to see on my wish list is:

- Trying to get control of the game early (i.e. not seeing the ball bouncing all over the shop for the first 20 mins !)
- Same urgency for an early goal/at 0-0 than if we do concede and then "show a reaction"
- Involving the wide players a bit more.
- A few decent crosses and set pieces.
- Less legging it back to defend, more running forward to support !
- Less all dropping back SO DEEP into our penalty area & 6 yard box.
- A lot more movement at throw in's
- Not bringing everyone back to defend set pieces.
- Occasionally running at the opposition (would be great !)
- A bit more confidence and cleverness.
- More composure
- Less panicking.

Give me all that, I personally won't care if we lose 6-0 ! (except other fans will be livid of course...)

Who knows, good execution in all areas, it may well be a victory.
If not, I most probably won't be harsh cos we're looking a little jaded, not on a crest of a wave right now and Kiddy are a useful team away from home.

Generally, I'd just like us to start with confidence, purpose and belief and with a smile like we've nothing to lose !

UTM.

PS Enjoy the sunshine !

According to Disley on RH this morning, they have all sat and had a good chat and "things were said, but that will all stay in house obviously," so I expect a much more full blooded performance on saturday now. Good that they've recognised that the performances have been mediocre at best lately and have addressed it.

All those points 80's are hopefully what S&H are drilling into the players all day, everyday, in training!

If the squad are practising those points in training and the team are trying to do those things all
season long then we will be there or there abouts. I'm sure thats what the message has always been.
Problem is, training only involves us. As soon as another team is involved its a different scenario.

Matchday seems very, very different to training. Thats the key, taking what happens in training
onto the pitch matchday. Whichever team does that best usually gets the result they want.

For me, definately better crosses and corners and better possession. win the midfield battle
and control the game. Easy?

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

Are you sure 0-6 wouldn't bother you 80s? Not even a little bit?

0-6 80s? Have you been on the sauce? My friend who came to the came with me to the match last said I didn't say a word between Luton scoring and us equalising (I hadn't noticed) so I fail to believe in you executing such a blazé attitude to a heavy loss.

I think what you aim for is what the team will be aiming for put, on Saturday for example, with Luton controlling the first 30 minutes of the game we were naturally unable to do some of those things you suggested.

Yes, I do agree, we're still in it and three points will put us back on the cusp. No worries about the teams with games in hand - points on the board count!!

Obviously it's incredibly difficult to imagine us playing well and losing 6-0.
Just trying to make the point that the performance is often more important than the bare result.
Obviously Braintree was hard to swallow but let's not forget the positives we maybe should have taken from that game.
Not saying we HAVE to take positives if there aren't any, just to keep an open mind.

Certainly not easy, nor am I expecting eveything on the list - far from it.
Just hoping for a few signs of improvement for the future in a few areas.

tbh I don't doubt their commitment per se, only perhaps we seem to up our game later than we maybe should. (not Tuesday tbf)

Don't want us strolling about like a kick around on a Sunday but not so sure I want us running around like headless chickens for the sake of it either - who knows, a bit more craft and composure could work wonders !

Yup, absolutely right. Remember we were the ones with a few games in hand not too long back....

I love just to see us get it down, I think were a fantastic side with the ball on the floor. We've got the players to play that way.

I like the way were tracking ball j ad all chipping in to defend, from the start of the season were much more solid and if say weve been pretty unlucky recently, with refs, injuries and last minute goals etc. if we don't make play offs the future is bright for next season I feel.

At the start of the season I said I would be pleased with top 8 in S&H first season of rebuilding so if we don't make the play offs at least we can hold our heads up once again   as things look hell of a lot better been a GTFC FAN.UTMM

The best result on Saturday would be for Kidderminster to bring their food suppliers with them

Going by the original title of the thread, can I recommend  Cameron, Oscourne, Maude and all the rest of the fookers......that would be good in my eyes.

Batch, K.Moore, Waters, Wiggington, Crombie, Brolly, Ford, Drinkell, Mitchell, Cumming, Kilmore. D.Moore, Stone, Liddell. ....1979/80..... now that WAS a team.

We need to go balls deep in Kiddy and make sure the players are awake when they step on the pitch, can't have any dawdling, we need to hit them from the start.
