    Town today are playing at a football club which had one of the funniest comedians I have ever known.

The guys name is Eric Morecambe who was part of funny two some called Morecambe & Wise who went onto be one of the most successful comedians that the UK  have ever produced.

I seemed to recollect that we played at Luton in the seventies and Eric came into our dressing room to introduce himself and signed autographs for everybody.

A really nice gentleman indeed and what surprised me more than anything was his height, on the telly he looked as if he was about six ft high but no he was about 5ft 8in.

That was another celebrity who got into football he was at Luton from 1970/ till 1977 by all accounts he loved his football and tried to make an appearance at all the games.

Thought I would mention again how the lure of football attracts the show biz circuit Elton John was another one along with Rod Stuart, Noel Gallagher, I am sure there are loads that never even mention who they go to support.

Well I am not going to forecast the result today, but I will say this,  It will not be easy Luton will be flying especially against us because like Luton we are a ex league status with a good reputation.

I am confident though about todays fixture and all I will say is this
COME ON YOU MARINERS.

Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play.
It is bound up with hatred,jealousy,boastfullness,
disregard of all rules and a sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence;
In other words it is war without the shooting.

I belive he had a little bit of a complex about his height and also the pair of them wanted to be seen as the tall one and small one, as such Eric used to wear shoes on stage that had extra high heels!

Funny enough I tried that with my football boots, but I could still not get them headers in the net.
