Must be Todd & Beasant for me. Todd was a leader & looked so good on the ball & Dave Beasant, who had the p**s taken out of him whenever he played in the top league, didn't just command his area he commanded his half of the pitch & anyone that saw him play at Newcastle, well ! The only other keeper who came close, as a presence, was David James when he played against us for Watford.

Yes. Todd made championship level football look very easy. Strange that he looked pretty ordinary when playing in the premiership but the gap must be huge. Beasant, as you say, commanded more than just his penalty area. It was like having a sweeper, only one who wasn't playing the other team onside. The results during Beasant's time with Town speak for themselves.

Beasant and Todd and how Woz could claim Neil Woods was bottom once he signed is beyond comprehension!

Lancashire was awful imo. His partnership with Atkinson was a huge contributory factor in our relegation from the league. Both displayed the strength of a lettuce.

Didn't he play in a pre-season friendly at Scarborough and his name was chanted all the game.

He did. Think he played the next friendly too (home to a Dutch team?)
