Just a warning to anyone who is planning on going via the M1 to Luton from wherever you are, that there are major roadworks between junctions 10 and 13 which include the 2 turn-offs for Luton.

I'd give yourselves a bit extra time to be safe.

Better through the road works than attempt entry via the A6. Other alternative is A1 and turn right at Hitchin.

If the football is bad you can always watch the gulls.

I travel that stretch of the M1 pretty much every week.  Currently 50mph between those 2 junctions both north and southbound with plenty of average speed check cameras.  It's an utter pain the in backside time-wise, but as long as the traffic is flowing OK it should be fine.

Yep, I go through there regularly. Factor in another half hour probably.

Turn left at Hitchin on the A505 through Offley if you see me standing at the bus stop stop and pick me up

M18 is shut for the weekend southbound, there is diversions but will add 1 hour to the journey, you are better of  doing the A46 to the A1 and comming of at Bedford

That's probably the best way for anyone going from Grimsby. A46, A1, A505.

We haven't got an option apparently on the battle buses. Police have advised the coach company that we will have to cut across on to the M.1 anyway from the A.1 and stop at Leicester Forest East Services. Trouble may be expected at Luton

One of the main roads in Luton is closed as well.
