If Peter stays for next season and assuming we lose Connor Townsend, I reckon Peter could make a good wing back. He is strong, not afraid of a tackle, heads the ball and is one of the best crossers of the ball we have had for a while. He is also fond of crossing from deep positions so,with another good left footed attacker in front of him he could do a lot of damage going forward.

Like your thinking Oldun.  Left back is a position which will need addressing next season unless of course we can persuade Conor to sign up for another season loan although I suspect Ull will want him to player at a level at least one higher (could be us!).

Certainly looks like Devitt has no future at Ull.  Looking at the highlights from the Accy games he certainly seems to be doing there what he did during his brief spell here (creating lots of chances and getting plenty of shots away).  Haven't heard anything about Green.

If Jamie Green could get himself fit that would solve our left-back problems for next season but I've no idea how likely that is to happen.

Been told that Green is currently at Lilleshall having his knee problem checked out and seeing as he has been sat in the stands recently,i think there is a good chance he will be our left back next season.

Sure he'll be well up for the move after enjoying such a delightful welcome when he visited last.

I'm sure once Thomas is informed about the club banning the alleged person, he may be up for a move to a team that should be pushing for promotion next season.

Agree Green looked a very useful player but we cannot afford to take a risk on players who might spend half the season in the treatment room. Harsh but we cannot carry passengers.

Jesus christ, what a load of balderdash that is.

So is Bradley Wood too small to be a right back in this division? I wouldn't say Townsends struggled either?

As for Jamie Green, get rid for god sake, can't afford passengers. He's good yes, but even if he does get fit he wont make it all the way through the season. I'd rather get someone else, waste of time and money that lad.

Can't see Connor staying here, should think Hull would want him in League 1/League 2 to gain more experience.
Although be brilliant if we could get him back. Good for us, good for him, good for Hull.

My first impression his stature doesn't look one of a defender but I do trust your judgment.

But would he be wasted in that postion ?
I'd prefer him putting in short crosses than deep ones and someone pacy (is he quick enough ?) to get forward from the back quick.

If he did though, who plays left midfield ? Soares or Coulson ?
Or someone like Jamie Green maybe ?

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Alan Wright (5' 4") played around 300 Premier League (where the players are faster and more athletic) games at full-back without too many problems. Green looks a couple of inches taller than that to me, in any case.

If you're good enough, you're big enough.

The idea that most teams in this division are big and meaty isn't necessarily the case. I can't remember too many aerial assaults this season - fewer than in League Two, in any case.

Also Alan Wright played against us last season for Fleetwood and at his age 38 I think, he was awesome for someone at his age he got up and down the pitch as if he was an 18 yr old.  Most fullbacks are no bigger than 5ft 10" how many 6ft fullbacks are there ?

You're all using examples of far far better players than green . He's an average at best BSP player who's only proven record is an injury list that has continually hampered his career . Macca 's athletisicm gave him an extra 6 inches when he was defending . Jamie green ain't got that cos his knees fooked
