There's an excellent group on Facebook called "Lost football league grounds of England, Wales and Scotland" which has loads of old pictures and memories.

You just couldn't beat the atmosphere in the old Barratt Stand. The Everton League Cup tie springs to mind as something money just couldn't buy for the experience.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

My father used to take me to boothferry park as a kid as he was a Hull fanatic and i was born in Hull. Then we moved over to Cleethorpes and i started following the Mariners. Nothing beats nearly 24,000 in Blundell Park and ive seen it twice.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Blundell Park back in the day when it had the old terrace Imperial Ave, Constitutional Ave, Harrington Street corners. Marvellous! Highbury was a great ground and of course the old Wembley.

You fill up my senses,
Like a barrel of Tetley's,
Like a packet of Woodbine,
Like a good pinch of snuff,
Like a night out in Cleethorpes,
Like a greasy chip butty,
O, Super Black and Whites,
Come fill me again
Na na naa naa naa naaaa TOWN!!

The Valley at Charlton was ace. I also loved Leeds Road Huddersfield. It had a haunting presence and echoed fantastically, especially the huge covered terrace that ran along one side. I also liked the old Bloomfield Road, Blackpool.

think my fave AWAY ground i have been to was the old den as it was. or maybe it was just cos town won?!
one of my first away game but was really good taming the "lions". afterwards i was sh1t scarred but spoke to a couple of their fans saying they had a lot of time for us as we didnt stop singing!

another old fave is the baseball ground. always so close to the home fans but, good banter

Let's face it most new ground are soulless identikit sponsored cesspools devoid of character. I don't care that Blundell Park is full of rust, decay and pigeon shite. I'll take it everyday over the Arsenal, Cardiff, Derby, Hull, etc, etc 's gounds.

Bring back standing.

Saltergate - we always did well there
Huddersfield -huge terrace all down one side. Probably held more than Blundell Park on it's own
Went to Bramhall Lane when it was 3 sided which was interesting!
