Can I take cans in if I wear them as part of a novelty hat with straws protruding allowing me to drink and applaud simultaneously?

slight over exaggeration from the OP there, I very much doubt Fenty has sat in his office and said "I know how to urine the fans off today, lets stop them taking drinks in, then none of them will ever come... yes, perfect business sense methinks"
As others have said, more likely a H&S decision than anything else. Plenty of other places do it for business reasons only, cinemas for example.
Yes, its irritating. Yes, it means I have to spend a couple of quid on drinks when I go, but it sure as hell wont put me off going!!!

Its not Fenty's call, its the new catering company we have.

just buy a drink in the ground then, hardly going to stop people going is it?. pretty much any sporting event or concert has the same rules. apart from some of the tinpots in this league (they were handing out cans unopened at alferton)

I always think its funny taking the top from the drink, even without it and you throw it 10 feet at someone its still going to hurt as not much would come out. They should really stop us taking old mobile phones, coins, homosexual lighters, walking sticks, flags and umbrellas, you can do just as much damage with those if you wanted to.
Was interesting when I went to see Aarhus v Brondby in Denmark, everyone was pat down searched before they went in inc. small children, women, OAPs etc and even a handicapped old boy was lifted up from his wheelchair so they could search under seat cushions etc.

I like the way the catering vans remove the bottle tops, but the "bar" under the Pontoon leaves the tops on. Also like the way a large Twix is £1 at the vans but only 80p at the "bar".

You could not take your own drinks in at Wembley last time we were there either....cant remember the uproar that day. Its standard practice and has been for ages nearly everywhere else.

At least they give you a plastic glass to pour your drink into at Wembley.

Well I'd never have known that.

Yes, I understood that Les.

But if you look at the post I had quoted I dont think that person had, unless I had missed a level of sarcasm.
