For someone who has to be the most dangerous player in barca's team they did a urine poor job at marking him or closing him down, although they do have some very good players leve were awful.

I don't want to make you all jealous (OK I do...).

But I'm going to the match on Sunday, Real Racing Santander vs Barcelona! 40 Euros for a ticket, I hope that Messi plays, so much! The last game I went to see Racing was a drab 0-0 with Real Sociedad. The standard here in Spain is awful, even at the top level, a lot of Racing's players compare to some of the passengers I've seen at town in the past!

UTM... and ale Santander!

Although he did the hand of god lol you can't denied he had fantastic technical ability.  Messi has a great scoring record and never seems to be injured isn't it 234 goals in 311 games but for me Pele is the ultimate legend having scored over 1000 goals

Only 8 hat tricks this season is not really up to our standards.  You need to be big and beefy to do well in this League according to some posters.

His 2 excellent chip shots (one with either foot), also show that he is very skillful with either foot.

I never thought I'd ever see a player greater than Pele (although Pele always argued that George Best was better than him) In my eyes though Messi is on another planet as far as football's concerned.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

Always going to prefer Ronaldo myself, since he's proved himself to be great in English football too, and to be fair, I don't think Adam Proudlock would struggle with Iniesta and Xavi sat behind him.

good point just recently Belleti who played with both Ronaldinio and Messi claimed skill wise that Ronaldinio was better(something I agree with) though other debates in other forums(Barca forums)claim Messi is more dangerous going forward(which stands to reason as he has a low centre of gravity aided by his growth problems which have helped him be so effective  eg Maradona, Romario are other clear examples )

I wonder if Messi was to play in the prem he would struggle to adapt.  Some have often struggled Forlan being one of them, but I cannot see Messi ever leaving Barca.

I think he'd be the best player in England by a mile. But like you say, I can't see him leaving Barca either.

He does have a fantastic scoring record, I can remember when people were talking about Brian Cloughs scoring record similar to Jimmy Greaves, and that if Clough didn't I injure his knee he would have gone on to partner Greavsie for England now that would be some partnership.

True, there's something off about the guy but I can't quite put my finger on it. He's definitely top 5 in the worlf, but is he really numero uno? I'm not so sure...

I think he needs to win a World Cup to be classed above those two, but really hope City snap him up someday (in a couple of seasons time perhaps?)

Comparisons are fairly pointless but for what it's worth I think Maradona is still the greatest ever.

He did the lot at both club and international level. Pele never played in a decent league and Messi has never done it at a World Cup.
