I'm pretty sure some bloke just made this up on Wrexham's message board and through the wonder of TWITTER, where nobody checks facts before re-tweeting things, it's getting reported as fact.

Phew, lucky I said 'apparently' then

Its claimed that Cheatwood get so many penaltys because they play 4 up front according to some mammary at BlueSquare. Personally they get them cos their top of the league and appeal more(though not needed last night). Refs always give more dicisions to higher placed teams. We just havent been high enough in the table the last 10years.

I dont think its a conspiracy theory in quite the same way. A home/larger crowd MAY have some effect on a ref's decision, but generally the teams higher up in the league get more penalties because they spend more time in and around the opposition box.

They are higher in the league because they're better teams, meaning they will push the opponents back and force mistakes and errors.

So as top home scorers, equal only with Barcelona a few weeks back, why do we have so few penalties ?

I was looking in on the Wrexham board last night. It was quite funny, it was like another Fishy the way they were backing us. Anyway, a couple of posters said there would be an 'inevitable' red card and penalty to get them back in it. Ok, fair enough, we didn't get the red at least....

Because I dont actually think we get in the box all that much. We tend to knock the ball around deeper and deliver from wide areas, or hit on the counter. Generally I dont think ive seen us apply high level pressure all that often this season.
