Why are Man City not a real team?

The mans got a point - Man City aren't a propper team, they've brought glory (or tried to) rather than playing football like REAL teams have to in order to achieve success.

I don't get this argument about proper teams.

Surely all clubs have to buy glory. I'm sure we've done the same.

As much as I hate Man City, they have bought players because someone has stumped the cash.

Is a proper team, a team that balances its books or turns a profit at the end of the season?
