I had heard of the Fenty article. We have the front page story again with Fenty making a decent case for 4 team to go up. He was honest enough to say that when we were in the League he thought selfishly that 2 clubs being promoted was more than enough. The main article continues on page 5. Fenty asks for the parachute payment of 250K to be increased, citing ex-League clubs struggling financially or going bust. The interview with Fenty also talks about Ryan Bennett's transfer. Mentions the huge windfall we are guaranteed.  Quotes some figures but nothing new. Says this money hardly covers the vast sums we have lost since losing our League place. Elsewhere there is a small report on our win at Bath. Only 1 picture from the 4 games covered. It had to be Anthony Elding. AE fact: No picture of Anthony Elding is ever big enough. Elsewhere stats show we have had more corners than an other team (217), only Luton and York just g ot over 200. Shame we waste most of them. Other stats not unusual. A very good letter from an Ebs fan about the York game being called of at 1230 hrs last Sat. Club and fans money wasted. Darlo and Kettering getting worse.  And the loss of revenue from games off reducing cash flow. The main article on page 16 is about a polar bear invading the pitch at BP, causing the York game to be abandoned. You will have to buy the paper to read this! |
