Are gtfc and the council exploring every financial avenue regards financing the new stadium.
Seems York have some financial help, can anyone explain?

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I posted recently that their proposed new stadium has gone on for longer than Town's. York have made the same progress as well. All down to money, power and reliable business deals.  Or rather the lack of these key elements.

The fact that York are looking again at developing Bootham Crescent says everything - an option now rejected.

York Council are nearly bankrupt.

I still think Darlo giving us their stadium would help both parties. We just need a really feckin big trailer.

Never really understand these statements, most new stadiums I have visited are anything but soulless, even a half empty galpharm or whatever they call it this week had a decent atmosphere when we played there some years ago. The KC stadium, possibly the best council ground in the world generates a very good atmosphere and to top it all they have every facility going. Now doubt we will get a new ground like the kc as our council are not only skint but they are useless and have probably invested money in a faroe island bank! We have to make sure we don't end up with a glanford park type of structure however this also has a good atmosphere with a decent crowd. What can be souless grounds are dumps which are no longer fit for purpose, chesterfields saltergate was certainly one of these and ours is slowly slipping down to that standard, when we will get our new one? Until the private sector kicks on possibly never, what it will be like will depend on the level of football we are playing, something like chesterfields ne one or the soon to open Rotherhams new ground would imo be most welcome.
