I was bored and got a couple of days off, just wondering what people's favourite films are, then might watch them over time off.

Not favourites necessarily but watched Warrior (not Warriors which is obviously excellent and a classic) and Driver last weekend and both were very good.

Also seen both of these lately and would recommend.

Driver surprised me as i thought Ryan Gosling was a teen heartthrob type actor but he is excellent in this.Very menacing. It wasn't what i was expecting at all.

Just watched Crazy Heart about a washed up country singer played by Jeff Bridges and he is very good in the role.

Blue Valentine is excellent as well - to be fair he's been very good in most films I've seen him in.

The Wrestler - excellent, Rourke is fantastic.
District 9 - again another fantastic film, got overlooked slightly due to it being released at a similar time to Avatar, but far superior in my eyes.
Then there's stuff like Donnie Darko, Dumb and Dumber and Batman: The Dark Knight. Probably my favourite films.

Right i'm gonna watch that warrior and driver, thanks for the recommendations (as long as there good, ha). Watched a French film called the prophet last night, recommend to anyone who's into prison/gangster films, only two foreign films ive watched is that and city of god, both brilliant, just bough gomarrah off amazon which sounds good.

I saw The Prophet at the cinema and agree that it's excellent. If you want more blockbustery films I thought the recent Planet of the Apes prequel was really good.

And should have mentioned...if you want a comedy, The Guard with Brendan Gleeson and Don Cheadle is a very funny black comedy.
