The text of which is;

The Mariners Trust would like to wish a Happy New Year to all Town followers around the world. Let us all hope that the on field progress made in recent months continues apace.

The Mariners Trust continues to attract new members on a daily basis and perhaps many of you that have confirmed you attention to join, will sign up in the coming days.

The Trust have already been busy in the first few days of 2012 and we would like to update you progress on several matters.

The situation regarding the catering has been debated on the various message boards and the Trust board have met with the club to discuss matters. The club are aware of the supporters feelings and are working upon a solution.

The Trust are hopeful that a long term remedy can be announced shortly. We are sorry that we can’t go into more detail at present but hope you will bear with us.

Discussions are ongoing with the club regarding the provision of a designated fan bar at the ground. To make this available to all fans, which is a primary aim of the Trust, there are several logistical issues which need addressing. We have met with the club and are meeting with third parties in the next couple of days to try and move this forward.
Membership drive; We have attracted over 80 new members in the last few weeks and will be having a focused effort on a stand by stand basis at the coming games. This will focus on getting forms completed on the day rather than just giving out the forms. The Trust will be available to answer any questions. We will announce which stand we are focusing on at a match by match basis.

A new corporate membership is being launched. A list of the benefits will be published on the Trusts website within the next few days. The prediction competition launched this week will hopefully continue to grow. Details are available on the various message boards with full details on the Trusts website.

In addition a new ‘lottery’ will be launched during the month. This was initially an idea from last Novembers open meeting when an exiled life member of the trust wanted to contribute but, having paid his life membership several years ago, wanted a way of supporting the Trust on an ongoing basis. Full details should be released in the next few days and we hope many of you will sign up for the chance of winning a sizeable prize.

The Trust have agreed an arrangement to utilise the clubs facilities for social functions and we hope to get a regular social calendar announced soon. These will be part social, part fund raising and a part communication. We are trying to set up a ‘blockbuster’ event which, if it comes off, will, we believe, excite a wide cross section of the fanbase.

We have held discussions with the club regarding ticketing initiatives and are currently awaiting their response. Progress is being made on several suggestions made by many fans and although we appreciate much of this update is about things to come, we continue to move things forward.

Your support is vital if we are to improve things for you but please join us and consider helping us get these initiatives off the ground. If you already are a member perhaps you can try and persuade a fellow Town fan to do likewise?

TOGETHER WE ARE STRONGER
