[/quote]lol was a Hartlepool fan.  Makes me wonder what Darlingtons budget was aimed for, crap gates but their wage structure based on what attendances?  Maybe their Chairman didn't run the club as well as he should have, out of their depth in terms of revenue.

John Fenty stated we need 4,500 gates to break even, it's just one big gamble.

Did he? I thought it was 3000?

STATEMENT FROM ADMINISTRATORS

"I was appointed as Joint Administrator of Darlington Football Club (2009) Limited, together with my co-Administrator, Peter Gray, earlier today by the directors of the Club.

"I am currently exploring all options to try and find a way to enable the Football Club to remain in existence but the position of the Club is such that without any financial support from outside the Club or anyone willing to acquire the Club I will, unfortunately, have little alternative but to cease to trade in a very short time.

Does not sound very good at all for them, feel sorry for their fans.

That is when we were in Div 2 , I think the break even point is closer to 2500 - 3000 gates now.
Ahhh maybe I was wrong then, I thought I heared it on that AGM meeting on Mariners World when John Fenty spoke, maybe I'm totally wrong, doesn't matter, sorry.

I think the figure of 3000 relates to the current losses. i,e, average 3000 results in the loss predicted and, next season a 3000 average gate results in a loss of around half a million.

Break even would need a much higher crowd. 5000 or thereabouts

3,000 is a poor business plan the boardroom should have been budgeting for 2,000 - 2,500.

The boardroom are excellent at running up debt, thought Flemming said the boardroom is full of business acumen.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

It would appear that the administrators want to move swiftly !!

They will obviously get their fees first as being in control !

Players may be made available immediately to relieve a wage bill prior to any voluntary repayment scheme materialising ??

I can't see players staying on now, especially if there is no chance of bills being paid again - in fact, what odds on their next game going ahead ??

Hopefully, S & H may fancy a dabble to help out one or two of their midfielders, and thus boost our season yet again ??

(Mrs Hatch - what price a shopping spree in Freshney Place now ???

Conference statement on Darlington

It has been confirmed by Darlington FC, that they have today (Tuesday 3rd January 2012) entered into administration.

In compliance with Football Conference Rule 14.A.1., the club is automatically deducted 10pts from the club's total so far accrued this season.

To retain its position in Blue Square Bet Premier for next season, Darlington FC will need to comply with Rule 14.B.1., prior to the date of the next AGM, (Saturday 9th June 2012), i.e. have either:

1. Paid all it's creditors in full OR

2. Paid all it's Football Creditors in full and entered into a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) to pay all other creditors in full over an agreed period not exceeding three years from the date of the CVA being approved.

Failure to meet the above requirements will lead to automatic relegation by one Step in the football pyramid system, or if Darlington FC were to be in one of the normal relegated positions at the end of the season, it would face being relegated by two Steps.

The club will continue under a player embargo whilst the club remains in administration.
