Only 2100 left for Sunday. Best get mine 1st thing tomorrow. Seems like en masse Mariners. Don't think we'll sell out, but surely if we get close we need to push Gimps into the corner and have some of the Osmond too. 4 sides of the ground Town is always special.

With Lincoln having sold about 600 or something like that then it'll be something around 6000-6500 at the moment. Hopefully we can get that up to around 7.

Loads of people decide to get their tickets on the day so we should be looking at a big crowd, bigger than I expected to be honest. It's amazing how many people come out of the woodwork for big games.

I'm going with my Dad (Gillingham fan) and little bro (latched himself on to a prem team since I moved away and stopped taking him to see Town regularly; hopefully Sunday might help shake it out of him!). Haven't been to a game since York away. Looking forward to it.

If we do sell out the home end, which looks possible, we must surely push the gimps into one half of the Osmond and give the rest to Town? We need to make the most out of this big gate and get as many people as possible into the ground.

Lincoln seem pretty impressed with our support on their forum. By my calculations we've now nearly sold 5000 tickets for Sunday?

Quoted from 1739

Lets work it out: 9051 - 1904 (Osmond) = 7147 capacity of home end. 7147 - 2100 = 5047 tickets sold so far.

There are approximately 7000 home seats. That means that the current amount of sold tickets for both home and away supporters just about equals the Boxing Day crowd, and that's with 1000 less away fans and a day of sales to go.
It's gonna be somewhere close to 6500 I'd have thought. I'm sure it'd have been a sell out if we were in the play off positions.

Thats the only worry I have. Town in the last few years (play off season apart) have been dogshite in front of a big crowd. Lets buck this trend on Sunday and carry on the good feeling around the club.

I dont think that's entirely true, Barnet for example we played very well second half last week at SW, with a huge following, thats just to name two

I meant at home, when the big crowd would usually have a fair few floating fans. And I would say the Barnet game was under exceptional circumstances.

God, if we can beat the Gimps Sunday anything is possible! There will be a huge following at Alfreton the following week and then Bath, games we should win with the right attitude and then we are on the verge of the play offs - as a Mariners fan of 4 decades i know what is possible at GTFC when the imagination of the Grimsby public is attracted. Hope the players don't get frightened and dissapoint us as is the norm. A semi rocking blunder park is a sight to be hold, pity about no standing.

Good post. A good performance and result on Sunday should get a few more back on a more regular basis. Get the ball rolling and end up with good following home to Bath and Telford in Jan. We ned more fans to offset some of the financial losses and we need more in attendance to boost the players. A win/win C'mon you MIGHTY Mariners

Somebody posted earlier this week that the difference between Grimsby and Lincoln fans is passion. Very true. Not just the difference in the number of away fans - it is also about the atmosphere we created at City. They laughingly said that we have no football tradition either. Nothing could be further from the truth. Are they ignorant of our top flight football in the past? Town are building momentum. The fans are getting excited, the players are responding. Performances are improving. We have a good unbeaten run(over 90 mins). We need to crack on with a proper unbeaten run against good sides. With the signing of Ian Miller and Connor Townsend for the rest of the season, we can have a good, settled defence. The midfield is gradually improving. Coulson seems to have shaken off his ankle injury and is back to near his best form. Up front we have a very good partnership that will produce more goals. We are top scorers at home. Need more goals and points away. Good start at Lincoln. Really looking forward to the game and atmosphere tomorrow. Hope there is enough food, beverages and programmes for the very large crowd. We need the cash.

I don't think Coulson has shaken off his injuries. There's more to come from Him IMO.

If any attendance is above 5000 in this really expensive pub league you have to be pleased, even more so when the huge majority are home fans. Take away our uppity on boxing day and Lincoln would have been down to their average gate do the last 2 seasons. Take away lincolns average at best support for tomorrow and we've still almost doubled ours...
I expect that we will probably have a higher gate than nearly all league 2 games and some league 1.

Cracking post. The difference between Town and all the other teams in this League with the possible exception of Luton is the support is out there it`s just a case of the football team giving them what they want so they come back week in week out.The Club at long last seem to have arrested the decline and the last 3-4 weeks has been about the long climb back the bandwagon is here now CLIMB ABOARD THE MARINERS EXPRESS

Hope there's a magnificent turn out, and sincerely hope that 100% of the fans keep behind the perimeter fence and don't "celebrate" on the pitch at any time. If even a third of the extra attendees come back for more on a regular basis following a good Town display the crowds will soon touch 4,000 plus. UTM!

Might just beat 6,300 but can't see 7.5k being there. The home areas hold 6.8k excluding all of the Osmond so 7.5k with 700 Imps fans would mean the home areas are sold out. 6k home fans would be a superb turnout for mid table BSP. Scunny's biggest gate of the season is 6050 with 2200 Blades fans in that crowd. I also think 700+ from Imps isn't too bad. York had 900 at Mansfield - further to go but they are in a play off place. Chesterfield were pleased with 1000 to Hudders which is a similar distance as Lincoln to GY. I don't think Lincoln's away support is bad - it's still 30% of their current home gates, it's just ours is exceptionally good for this level; we matched Notts County's support at Bramall Lane, they are hovering around play-offs in the League one v attractive opposition and have homes gates averaging 6 to 7k.

Are you going Im ?

Not sure mate but lots being sold today when I was in ticket office - my mate up for NY is very much looking forward to game tomorrow - but as an Arsenal fan he will be coming to see a traditional match at a traditional ground without a Prem rip off in sight !

If 7500 turned up that would be a sell out. The ground capacity is around that figure. Then up to 9 with extra seating.
