Who's he signed for???

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Let's all cheer in Ian Miller for his first game, and look forward to a victory in style, and in front of a large partisan crowd - How about Grimsby 5 - Lincoln 0 ?

What odds for Miller heading in a debut goal from a corner ??

In front of the Ponny as well ???

Happy New Year ??

looks like these two know what they want... trial and error, not every signing is going to work, we are now deffo a work in progress, the results and sometimes the performances since october have improved has they have identified what is required..

i for one am starting to feel very hopefull about regaining league status in the next 18months( might be a bridge to far this season)

sadly think that will be the end of antwi, but looking for to the prospect of a cb partnership of i'anson and miller. That IMO is promotion standard.

I am very pleased as when he played against  us he caused us lots of problems so credit must go top S&H for  the way they are building  a good young sqaud and  a mix of experience.
IMHO we will be up around 6-7 this season then in the play offs next (WELL DONE  S&H PLUSE BIG JOHN) let us all be thank full for the way they have turned this excrement around and put us back on the road to which most of us are accustomed to in the past

Thanks to Will Antwi..... for holding up that defence for us..... for helping to turn this season around......for helping the other defenders to play to their potentials !

I hope to look back and remember his contribution at the end of this season as the start of better days for GTFC !

Seems a very positive signing. Looking forward to seeing him at BP.

Now for a pacey, left-footed winger!

A certain irony too, given that Lincoln fans were talking of his quality, and after their players clattered I'Anson and had Pearson wrongly booked/suspended so both are missing, maybe the footballing Gods are back onside with us.

What would be interesting is Antwi signing and having a rotation of  Charlie, Antwi, Miller and Pearson.   Can only see bright things for the mariners.

Garner?

More importantly, watch Ian Miller do some defensive headers!

Truely delighted with this and it's just added to the really positive few months. Another big slap in the face for everybody who wanted these two out, time is the best thing to give a manager and it's paying off! Looking forward to seeing him in a Town shirt.

Darlo fans think that Hatch might want to follow him here ???

Where did Hatch go to from Darlo?

Was it just a short loan or a firm signing?

Alongside when I looked at Liam Hearn on the Alfreton FC stats page - this is the most excited I have been about a Town signing since 'he's a baby' returned on loan in 2002. (edit: I could easily be overlooking ten or twelve interim bouts of excitement)

But wow; this looks to be a truly great signing for our team. I'Anson and Miller looks BSP Strong, with a capital 's'.

Wonderful work S&H. UTM

Darlo fans seem impressed with him. Let's hope he does the business. Seems harsh that he would go straight into starting line up for me though (unless he has pace nd I'Anson is definitely out).

After the duo saying they were looking for one or two centre backs and releasing Kempson,it was fairly obvious someone would be coming in for Jan 1st.Good job we got our man with the injury crisis, but i always felt they had someone lined up regardless.Think Garner will go now, unless his heroics at Lincoln have changed the duos minds.

Another good signing and another piece of the jigsaw in place. We now need some pace and drive in the middle of the park.

He's a centre back and he's available so he plays!

Yeah, Futch was thrown straight into the fray, hardly had chance to take his coat off, and he was ancient and struggling to get into Halifax reserves in Div4 at the time.

To be fair, Garner played well as did Pearson in 2nd half so it would be harsh on them. Especially Garner who, in my opinion, has been unlucky to not get a longer run as everytime he's stepped in he's done well.

I feel a future legend beginning with this signing - definite ambition to sign good players where needed!

Futch no 2...... or rather.... Ian Miller no 1 !

Hatch would be worth the extra on the wage bill for the rest of this season. Kempson, Ridley on a very good wage here n Arthur still is. Hatch would be an excellent signing, Hearn, Elding n Hatch n Duffy. Spencer can get released.

Garner might show he can play alongside an older experienced player, he never had the chance alongside Antwii. A great pairing for attacking corners!

Very happy mariner here too, don't know much about him but you can tell he's a cracking little player from what the Darlo fans are saying, sounds like he should be playing at a much higher level than this.

Good solid signing IMO, looking forward to seeing more in January, a left winger is a must please H&S!

Very Very happy with this signing..... I said as soon as Kemps got released that Miller was who I wanted as a replacement....  A back 4 of Wood Miller I'Anson Townsend certainly looks like promotion standard. Things are looking good!!!!!

I hope Miller settles quickly as it is often dificult for defensive partnerships to be formed  quickly. Obviously Antwi looked at home from the off and i hope people dont get on Millers back if he isnt a cross between Cannavaro and Barasi immediately!

He should be good  in the air.  He grew one inch in 2 consecutive postings at the start of this thread.  The ones showing the 2 links to the move. By Sun at this rate of growth he should be tall enough to win everything in the air.

We need his experience, proven captaincy and leadership skills and he is a cup winner. A strong asset to the team.  He also knows this League well.

Fergie was a success before Man U. He then struggled for a few years before success. Our Duo may run parallel here after a slow transition period.

Maybe something to do with almost every single Darlo fan saying what a great player he is and he's played for them for 4 years so they'll have seen him play many, many times.

Yes!

Seriously from what I have seen of him he is a natural leader, very vocal and seems good at organising the back line. Good in the air, quick and doesn't get pushed around. What has impressed me when I have seen hokay at is his calmness on the ball, he doesn't get flustered with the ball at his feet (ala Kempson) and has the ability to pick out a pass. I think you can always tell what sort of pmayer you are getting from the reactions of the fans of the club that they are leaving, and with Miller they seem to be universally positive. IMO we have a very good centre half who could very well play at a higher level (hopefully with us). That is just from my observations, perhaps someone lime AndyDarlo could fill us in on his strengths and weaknesses

Great signing! Very good defender and by all accounts a leader which we need. If we could get a left winger (a fit Jamie Green would be lovely) and a centre mid then play offs here we come!

If he leaves opponents limping like they did it will satisfy our bloodthirsty lot.

We haven't paid a fee and we have just off loaded two high earning players with maybe a couple to go.

We didn't lose a million, the only money we owe is to the ex chairman, who is happy with it being a benign debt.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

When i saw he'd been released.. like every other town fan i said, oosh he'd be a good signing.. but has anyone noticed Scott and Hurst seem to cut the bullshit and get players signed.  I think the great fans, big club name and current form is a huge attraction for any player of Millers level. Great signing though.  Well done Scoot and Hurst

Get Miller on the phone to him. A strike force of Hearn, Elding, Hatch and Duffy would be awesome.

Minus Duffy, and probably Hatch I'd agree.

Duffy`s OK IMO, would you say that if he was in Lincolns strike force for Sunday, think not

Like the way he's talking about "US" already...

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

A quick swoop for Hatch would still only give us four fit strikers n hatch on his game is a damn good player. Also track Power at Lincoln they are struggling with wages n we've paid off some big earners. Midfield would then have cover of the right kind as I would start power n disley, church learning alongside thanoj or Panther. A decent left winger with pace n trickery I would be happy with that for a title push next season!
