ALL PLAYERS FOR SALE??

Well, that's a great opening article in the Telegraph by Ian Fleming - come and buy the club, and which players can we get some money for?

Make the books look better, sod the playing staff and fans again ?

So much for trying to build a new side to go forward after the last few years of rubbish.

I want the players to want promotion, not be in a shop window to bring money into a failing club!

To be honest, I can't think of anyone currently on the books who would be of interest to a club with cash on the hip.

I could probably raise more with a whipround at work based on results and peformance so far?

He said its the case at every single club and it's not different at ours. Which is true, everybody has their price! Hate how people love to pick tiny holes in their persuit to be as negative as possible.

I know what you're saying but it's not like all the players are transfer listed. All he's done is point out the obvious, that every player has a price (which is true) as well as the football club as a whole.

Fleming: Anything has a value

Grimsby Town chief executive Ian Fleming has admitted the club's shareholders would be willing to listen to offers for the purchase of the club.

Fleming has also conceded that the club's players are available if an offer is made that matches their valuation.

He told the Grimsby Telegraph: "Anything has a value - everything is up for sale. That doesn't discount a footballer or a football club.

"It is down to the shareholders to decide whether to take up that option or not."

Meanwhile, Fleming has revealed he is currently speaking on behalf of the board of directors following the resignation of chairman John Fenty.

He added: "John (Fenty) is still available as a senior director on the board, but I have taken over in the interim in terms of being the spokesperson on behalf of the board."

See my last post Mera. There is a big difference between saying every player has a price and saying the whole squad is on the transfer list.

This is an example of why people should read the quotes of what has been said rather than the rest of the crap in the article that tries to sensationalise the story (or invent one).

How can they say the club is up for sale and open to offers if....as far as i undertsand it....the take over panel is yet to pass judgement on effectively who owns it?
Surely until they have reached a conclusion ie Parker has to make an offer for the rest of the shares or lessen his share how can anyone else make a bid?
also as Parker is not on the board does Flemings plea speak for Parker?
If not then anyone buying the boards interest could only amount to 46% so they would be buying no controlling interest so how appealing is that?


Just wish they would shut the fvck up, conduct their business behind closed doors until a resolution, or at least until the take over panel has concluded. Its all bad press, must be unsettling for the staff, squad etc to read "everything is up for sale".
