Or to look at it more positively, Newport were all set for a promotion challenge until they came up against a battling Grimsby Town, and they never recovered from the experience. Newport had won their previous match 4-0, then The Mariners breezed into town and showed them what they were up against.

It doesn't happen over night though does it? he's been their what 5 months how can anyone turn a club around in that time?

Newport were doing well, they had had their manager poached to go on to higher things,  He did turn it aroung, in the wrong direction
