Hello fellow fishy warriors. Is their any news on Matty's charity match, I did post an idea to set something up with the help of some others (being of of town etc) I know Matty's dad was setting something up but don't know when this will be if it's not already been arranged/played.
It might be better if one of the admin guys can setup a new sticky titled Matty's Charity Match this was we can add names who are interested and keep the correspondence going, rather than creating a zillion individual threads.
Right now the interesting bits.
a) I need numbers who want to play b) when to play the matches i.e. End of season c) what pitches are available to hire d) not sure how to pick the teams I'm sure half the ones that were interested were all strikers lol
Any help would be much appreciated

I'm up for playing. I'm a keeper but I can also play central midfield as long as you don't expect me to move from the centre circle too often.

Hi meza got your pm thanks,I did see that matts dad was going to hold a charity event,I didn't want to get in the way like you didn't,but if we held our own event at the end of the season against fellow fishy members. I think simariners ideas are good ones,I would imagine there would be a lot of people up for this,it would be great to raise money for matts charity and it also gives us the chance to meet fellow fishy members, even if we played on a local field or park as long as we raised money for matts charity, that's all that matters. Ps sorry about any spelling errors I'm typing off my blackberry. Chris

Definitely up for it, end of the season should be good, although depending on the situation I might be off travelling before then, but I will make a donation towards it either way.

Be ambitious guys, I'm sure it will be worth it. There are for example charity games held on Old Trafford where players have to raise a certain amount to be able to play. Matty seemed to touch the hearts and minds of lots of people and there is an opportunity to raise decent money to help prevent others suffering as he did. Les is a great example of how much can be done if you think and plan big.

I'll definitely want to be involved in some capacity Mez. Obviously I won't be able to play due to medical reasons that I can't risk a knock to the head. It's nothing to do with the fact that I'm too old and fat though you know.

I think there's plenty of people/teams interested for this to be a mini tournament. More teams = more players = more money for charity.
I do think we realistically need to look after the season end now but that at least gives time to get everything organised and publicised.
Can I ask that anyone who would be willing to help with the organising to PM me an email address so we can work things out and get a plan in place? I'm keen to get this moving as soon as.
Thanks
Paul
