As someone who lives 15 mins walk from Edgeley here's my advice.

The Magnet on the a6 (Wellington Road) is an awesome real ale pub that also serves a variety of world lagers and Trappist stuff.

It is a fair walk from the ground (prob half hour) and not sure on the welcome town fans would receive.

Closer to the ground I'd say stick clear of the armoury and the obvious county pubs close to the railway station/Edgeley park.

The other side of the railway station there is the Grand Central (prob a no-no) and a few decent boozers near the town hall area (the jack Horner springs to mind) although again not sure on football etiquette.

The other option is staying on the train and going into Manchester

P.S sorry about the odd capitals - on my phone and it's autocorrecting everything

PPS most pubs in Stockport are Robinsons owned and Unicorn isn't that bad a pint plus they do specials every other month, we're due a run of "Dizzy Blonde" which is a light bitter made with lager malt/hops - a very quaffable pint.

For the more adventurous, if you see Robinsons Old Tom for sale it's an interesting 7ish % abv brew

Thanks but doesn't really suggest any away friendly pubs which ,I guess, is what people are looking for.
