You are right that Man City group could throw up some tense matches, definately the games to watch.

It won't be an easy group for City but it could be worse. With their squad City should pass this stage.

Nice to see United have got their usual bye into the knockout stages. I'm not bitter though

Unfortunately the team who finishes 6th in the league doesn't make the Champions League

That old chesnut. I guess United fans were pretty happy they were still in the competition when they hadn't won the title. At least I don't recall any complaints from them at the time. Lets face it, when they won the trophy in 1999 they had only been runners-up in the Premiership the year before.

Exactly - it was an interesting argument in 1997.

I know the CL is a money making monster and all that, and the group stages drag on, but when it gets to the last 16 knockout the standard is ridiculous.
