That from Greeny today has got to be in with a shout. But got me thinking; what are the other contenders for the best ever town goal?

Share your footage of what you think is the best ever. UTM

Unfortunately, many great Grimsby Town goals dont have any footage.
Those who were there just have the memory.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I would be more interested if it's the longest town goal in terms of distance ?

You don't see many like that unless its a keeper and wind assisted

Jevons’ was the one that sprang to mind when I was trying to think of the next best long distance goal. Different kinds of strikes, completely different stage, and the timing on Jevons goal made it all the more special, but I think Green’s today is possibly the best Town goal I’ve seen recorded.

Difficult to compare a goal like that to some of those team efforts from the Buckley era, but the sheer amount of applause from the home support speaks volumes. Truly magical goal.

Looking at the footage it has to be one of the greatest individual Town goals in the last 50 years. The awareness to see the opportunity and then the precision of the strike. That workmanlike NL player just carries on surprising us. Surely L2 goal of the season.

One of the very best goals I’ve ever seen, and I’m 50 odd and have seen a lot of goals!
