Astonishing goal. I was right in line with their goalpost and you could see it looping over Belshaw and dipping in to the net in glorious slow motion…..or at least it seemed…. those moments when the ball was in the air were increasingly thrilling……it isn’t is it?…..it is y’know…….it is…….he’s got it perfect…….YESSS!!!!

I really hope you are wrong about that because it's ridiculous for a GOTS list to be declared before all of the games have been played.
For what it's worth, Greens goal was the best I have ever seen from a Town player,I watched my first game as a young kid in 1965 and have seen plenty of good ones.
GOTS by miles and unlikely to be bettered IMO,

Nothing at all like Green's effort in those, they tend to favour overhead kicks (preferably from big sides...)

It's just the sheer distance of the Green effort.  Without wanting to be flippant about goals from the halfway line, it's a considerably lesser distance which makes the room for movement of the ball off track much less likely.  I think most people who have played football of any decent standard can hoof the ball that distance.  Then doing it at a decent enough pace and with enough skill to keep it on track, plus the right angle to get over the 'keeper and down in time to go under the crossbar is clearly where the professional skill comes in.

To do it from that extra distance is just flipping unreal.  We're not talking just inside his own half. He's 75 yards out!  

I would love to see a better goal scored than this, however I also sadly think it probably won't win the Puskas for obvious reasons.
