1st half a decent watch with Town playing some good stuff new lad dud well.Second half the wheels came off we looked exhausted and the decision to move Khouri to LB was baffling Thompson Barrington Ainley offered nothing at all in terms of energy battling or passing. Meanwhile Notts bring on a bit of quality and bang 0-2 Mcgoldrick. We just don't have any quality on the bench to change a game and the loss of Mcecheran killed us.

Positives were Turi, Khouri and Luker and the first half in general. Needed to score then but we dropped off after Luker’s early chance in the second half. One or two were really poor tonight but our injuries are catching up with us. And we really miss George.

It’s the hope that does the damage!!
Not complaining too loudly after the last 6 weeks but we were well off it tonight, particularly second half and made Notts look good.
Difficult to assess Geza in his first game but he could turn out to be another shrewd signing.
Definitely an “after the Lord Mayors show’ performance and we looked down to the bare bones as the game fizzled out

You alright, hun? Fan in the Main Stand having a pop at Artell? You can see why Sir Paul Hurst cupped his ears in that play-off final.

Can’t win them all—wasn’t even the worst performance in a loss. It’s all about bounce-back ability!

Why am I having a pop at Artell? Khouri the only player with energy to LB handed them midfield Tharme was on the bench so why not bring him on for Mcjannet?

Pretty much my thoughts, excellent at times first half, fantastic pressure, bullied them but never got the goal that much dominance should bring.....second half...once Luker had that early shot saved we we were second best and every sub made us worse.
Turi decent debut in the English game, didn't look phased, didn't look out if place and was assured on the ball.
Tough back to back fixtures for a Saturday/Tuesday and the lack of depth in the squad showed.
Not too dismayed but need to bounce back on Saturday but McJannet going off is a worry.

An excellent summary from 1MickyLyons. I think Wright needs taking out of the firing line/dropped/rested depending on your point of view as he often starts an opposition attack with his poor clearances if he hasn't shanked it into touch. His first kick, from the kick off went out of play and it carried on like that.

I thought we played really well first half but looked exhausted and a bit demoralised the second. Other results went our way so still plenty to play for if we can get one or two back.

I thought Khouri was centre back in the place of the injured McJannet, with Tharme not being thought fit enough to come on, but maybe I'm wrong.

We were ok but just didn't have the penetration or class in forward areas to worry them, and I thought Warren was our best player, which summed up the performance.

Just when we look like we are getting somewhere, we get pegged back again. Disappointing, but we are in a better place than i thought we would be, so can't be too put out by the result. They were on a poor run and there for the taking, but we didn't have enough to see them off. New guy had some good touches, but faded as was expected.

Team looks at the limit, and there were a lot of leggy players out there.

Yeah Mcjannet is class and calms Rodgers again I thought Warren did well but Wright needs dropping for a game or two.

Let’s face it, we’ve got away with a couple of stinking home performances this year and tonight we got undone. I’m absolutely convinced a large part of that is to do with the pitch, because the same players who played liquid football on Saturday struggled yet again to string 2 decent passes together at home. It’s killing us IMO and 2 games in a row now worries me unless we can somehow fix it to at least resemble a football pitch.

Artell is normally decent with his subs but they stunk the place out tonight, Barrington has absolutely no idea what to do with the ball when he’s within 30 yards of goal and Thompson has completely gone.

The big positive was the excellent performance of Turi and the growing confidence of Luker in a more central role.

Loads still to play for and I’m still sure the players can take us to the playoffs, but you can’t expect our style of play to not be severely hamstrung by the bog we’re having to play on every week. If we can’t fix that, we won’t make them.
