Indeed over exaggerated the proof in the pudding was the game on the telly showing the true picture ,(pardon the pun! )
The crowd attendance and empty seats and stand areas too in contrast to the FA Cup game against Crystal Palace.

No thought about 8k myself , but everytime we go there it just makes me go back to the repetitive thought of how badly we need a new ground or at least a higher capacity /improved BP . With us in the  position they are i am in no doubt we would pull bigger gates especially for big one's with being able to offer that larger away capacity  .

We do seem on the up and everything seems well but my underlying fear is eventually that lack of modern stadium/facilities will catch up with us and stop any real potential being harvested - the sort of one elephant in the room that needs serious discussion whether any real change is possible or not ; I suppose you just have to hope there is a plan , especially if we do go up a level .

Doncasters floating fan base is even worse than our own.
If we had a season as good as there's and a  larger stadium, we would draw larger attendances than they do. Im certain of it.

We need to get out of BP or at the very least improve capacity. Just not sure that we can, that ship seems to have sailed !

About 5.5k of them in there yesterday.

At £6 a pint you only need everyone to buy an average of one pint or equivalent in other F and B and the turnover would nearly match our away end ticket revenue from a full house. Clearly it's not all profit but the point remains the revenue earning potential of the stadium is way above ours. I reckon we are bottom 6 on revenue potential compared to League 1 and of those BP probably has the highest maintenance cost. Net stadium margin probably bottom 4 with Stevenage, Crawley and Burton.

If we were ever to develop along the lines of Brighton or Brentford we would obviously need a new stadium. But a small reminder,as if it were needed… we have no new training ground after 3+ years. For the time being we must mend and make do. It may always be so. But our owners have done much with what they have, the pitch excepted for the moment. We pretty much knew that under F nothing would happen.  Now, at least, we have hope.

Be interesting to know, other than aesthetics of a new training facility, what they currently lack at Cheapside.
