Just seen a tweet from John Tondeur

Injured again, Thigh Injury and as yet no news on the severity.

He’s a human being and i feel for him but he just doesnt seem to be cut out for full time football, he’s still a young man but we cant seem to go more than 5/10 games without him being injured again and to hand out a 3 year deal was just plain stupidity

So frustrating - can't imagine how he must be feeling. He's a cracking footballer at this level and he must be devastated.

The amount of muscular injuries in football now is staggering. I remember when clubs used to run with squads of 14/15 max, there never seemed to be any injuries. The high intensity sprinting of the modern game comes at a high price.

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

I think the players are probably over trained to some degree, or at least some of them are. What one player can cope with, others may struggle to match. Must be very difficult to work out what is and what isn't feasible for a certain player and we're not doing it very well with Vernam now.

I don’t align with this Artell is probably the most careful manager we’ve had with looking after players which on this occasion could be what’s happening, maybe Chas’s injury isn’t that bad.

Absolutely gutted for the lad, but just like Max Wright, his body cannot handle the rigours of full time professional football
Think his contract has 18 months to run, maybe its time for a serious conversation because we can't keep throwing money at his trestmabd rehab to get less than 200 minutes every 3 months out of him....such a crying shame but that's the reality of where he's at.

What we need is a team of Paul Groves who used to play every game without a niggle .

Not many like him though.

What serious conversation can be had. He's not going to rip up his contract and he's unlikely to get more money elsewhere unless he proves his fitness.

He'll be with us for the duration of his contract. When he's fit he'll benefit the squad. When he's not he'll be missed.

It was a gamble. He will have had other suitors, probably better options football wise, but we'll have scored him with the long contract.
We take a few gambles on players with bad injury records. Some pay off, some don't. Thompson injury prone but did us a job last year. Hume had a reputation for being injury prone before he came, he's been a revelation.

So we carry him?...sorry but that's not an option imo, he's never been fit enough to give us more than 3 games, it's not acceptable in the real world.
Personally, I think we do the right thing and pay him up, we need him off the wage bill, he's too much of a liability take up a squad number, as harsh as thar sounds.
