Away from the Champions League there are a few games going on in League Two tonight, a couple of minor interest to Town.

Wimbledon beating Crewe 2-0 (with Crewe down to 10 men) in the Bogle / Bugiel derby - on Sky Sports+. That’s probably just about the best result for Town I think, assuming it stays the same.

Bradford beating Accy 1-0 at home at half-time. Another Stanley comeback, the likes of which we’ve already experienced this year, would be handy in that one.

Walsall still wobbling - 5 without a win now
First half in that game was dreadful - much better second half and Gillingham really should of won the game - 10 games without a win now for them

Nice to MK lose again this time at Barrow

Think Notts getting very close to being favourites in my mind for the league now. That’s one big old wobble for Walsall.

All Town aren’t we

Not directly relevant but having watched 130 minutes of Forrest tonight and losing the will to live can’t help thinking they are the  best League .2 team in the Premier Leeague.

Since Lowe was recalled to Stoke it's gone absolutely mammaries up at Walsall.

Won the first game against MK Dons but have since picked up one point from four games.

This league could go anywhere in the next couple of months:

Gillingham, Barrow and MK Dons started the season well but have all tailed off massively. Walsall wobbling like a giraffe on a wet sheet of glass. Port Vale and Crewe hanging on to their play off hopes by their fingertips. We're up and down like a fiddlers elbow.

Meanwhile Colchester, Wimbledon and Bradford climb steadily, Notts and Donny keeping steady.

Our last 3 games of the season (Port Vale, MK Dons and Wimbledon) looked very tough at the start of December. Now they are much more of a mixed bag with Wimbledon looking the toughest.

This weekend’s round of fixtures look interesting, with many of the sides around us either playing each other or sides right up at the top.

Thursday

Port Vale v Notts County

Saturday

Wimbledon v Salford
Walsall v Chesterfield

I’ve given up second-guessing how we’re going to turn up, but a seemingly unlikely win away at our recent nemeses Donny could put us right back into the thick of the play-off picture.

A Port Vale win tomorrow would tighten up the pack

And another win for The Dons Saturday would really do nicely - along with Town doing the biz at Donny

If only it was so easy eh!
