We were clearly the better team, made things difficult for ourselves and Mark Hughes has got a big job on his hands.

The battle between George and Embleton was a great watch, both very good but MoM was Denver Hume for me, at the heart of most of our best moments with a nod to Vernam’s cameo.

Really enjoyed today's game, first game for my young lad today and it was capped off with a win. Thought we controlled the game after the opening 10/15 and there was some really good football played that created some good chances. If we were clinical, we could of hit them for 5/6. Thought Jason at RWB was going to have a long afternoon after that first 10 but then grew into the game and kept their winger quiet whilst looking very threatening at the other end. If we can keep Obikwu fit I think we have a shout for the play-offs.

First 25 minutes we were not very good at all. Started far too slow and took a while to settle into the game. Frustrating having defended so well against Bromley getting the ball into the box so often last week we conceded early doors to a front post corner.

After that though I thought we were much the better side. Some really good foot fronted football I thought, lots of intent in what we did if not quality when it came to the finish. A reoccurring theme I know but the pitch in my view does really limit the quality of having the ball in the floor moving it quickly and accurately.

Full credit to the team though, came straight out second half and carried on where they left off - easy for that not to happen given the recent history of poor second halves and not coming from behind.

Thought Jason looked really, really good.. again. Some really nice neat touches and bits of play, probably deserved a goal and it’s great to see him really coming into things second half of the season. Obikwu on the scoresheet again, that’s 6 league goals in 660ish minutes - almost a goal a game, never got much of the criticism of him. Keep him fit and play him and he’ll score goals.

That’s just the one defeat in last 7 at home now, which is good to start to put some of the issues we had at home to bed.

All in all, a really entertaining game, we were up and at them and if the quality definitely has room to improve you cannot fault the effort, intent and intensity of today. 3 points off the play offs… Up the bloody Mariners!

They looked a very poor side and we were dominant bar a 5 minute spell when they scored.

Rose my MOM and Obikwu is vital to any chance of the Play offs that we have. His goals to game ratio is superb

Fully deserved win, but much closer than it should have been. Had enough situations and chances to win 2 or 3 games. Played some good stuff at times, and had them pinned back for long periods, but they still managed to hit the inside of the post and miss the chance to bury the rebound for what would have been their second goal, and made our task even harder. Lost count of how many shoots we had.

Agree with Muddy about MOM. Thought Hume was superb. Rose and Obikwu are scoring pretty regularly now and the win sees us move up a place to 9th, and only 3 from the play offs.

Come from behind win as well, which is satisfying and the second time we have done that to Carlisle this season.

A ‘come from behind’ double.  Lovely 🙂

Considering we are one of the division's top scorers, we don't half leave a lot of goals out on the pitch. Should have scored another two or three today at the very least. We've been like this all season and it means we're unlikely to trouble the play-offs. Pleased to see Obikwu get his goal, but he should definitely have scored before then and JDS kept kicking the ball straight at the keeper as well. Biggest issue is the number of times we get in behind teams but never manage to put a properly threatening cross in.

Otherwise, a good performance after a poor start and some good attacking play at times. It's nice to see both of your strikers score!

Carlisle have got quite a few good players but the formation didn't help them at all and they only really looked like scoring from set pieces. I know they hit the post from open play, but it was after a couple of lucky deflections in midfield presented their player with the ball, which he slipped through to the guy who had the shot very effectively.

Hume MotM for me as well. Some lovely forward passes to put players through down the line when you expected the more obvious shorter, simpler one.

Another great win. 1 down in the 96th minute versus Gillingham I certainly would’ve taken 7 from the next 9pts available.

Safe with 16 games to go , I doubt even the most optimistic would have thought that was likely .

Carlisle were going to pump all and sundry at season start , shows that capital at this level isn't always king and maybe the method we are using /going on might not be the worst idea .

We were far better than them but it could have been different if they had got that penalty at 1-0  , as always the ref probably got it wrong with the rules now . But we should have had what 3 , 4 or 5 probably so fully deserved really . We could be the real deal next season with 2 or 3 of the right additions and keeping the majority ; Hume seems very important to the way we play losing him would probably have a significant impact .

Certainly one of our most entertaining performances all season. Carlisle looked decent for a short spell but we always looked a threat, then on 25 mins we stuck our foot on their neck and didn’t let go all game. It’s the first time all season I’ve seen us have sustained pressure for such a long period of time.

JDS, Hume, Obikwu and GM were all superb, couldn’t pick a MOTM between them.

We’ve looked good the past 2 games with the new formation no doubt really helping us and probably surprising the opposition slightly. Some tough looking fixtures coming up but any side who can string 4 or 5 straight wins together will have a huge shot at the end of the season, no reason it can’t be us.
