Moved to 12.30 kick off

Something about how fixture picks will now be decided on a weekly basis , seems like this sky deal is worse than bad for match going fans than it even seemed at the start.

I presume the weekly decision will effectively just be a rolling one, so we'll get about a months notice.

Fixtures that are getting selected certainly feel to have more of a pointy end of the stick feel to them.

https://www.efl.com/news/2025/february/06/see-the-latest-efl-tv-selections/

I reckon the week after (15th March) we might have a chance of a 12:30 against Salford. Although Crewe/Donny, Notts/Chesterfield and Port Vale/MK probably better shouts.

22nd March against Newport I don't think is in any danger.  Notts/Crewe & Salford/Donny I imagine take the 2 slots.

29th we're already playing the day before.

5th April against Morecambe isn't a big appeal.  Walsall/Vale surely the top pick with Bradford/Crewe  possible.

12th April away at Harrogate another non appeal for Sky but it's not a great weekend all round so could be.

Good Friday and Easter Monday all games will be on tv but if Vale away on the Monday could be one that gets brought forward.

26th April against MK has potential. Not a lot else standing out that weekend, Donny/Bradford aside.

3rd May everything has to be played same time.

Yeah, the EFL set it all out at the start of the season.

I think it was mid-November that all weekends up until the first weekend in March was announced. For the remainder of the season (7 Saturdays when you take out Easter and the final matchday) it's 30 days notice with weekly announcements.

Personally I think it's fair enough. We've had plenty of notice for the first 7 months of the season. For the last 7 Saturdays Sky will obviously want to pick games closer to the time to try and ensure they pick the most relevant games with something riding on them.

I definitely didn't read the small print at the start of the season i must admit , I thought all games would be penned in months in advance but I suppose the closer it gets to the business end it makes sense that they will want to choose the 'big one's' . What about if it's nip and tuck down the stretch though can they move the games at shorter notice than a month ?

Because a month is a pretty short time in terms of how the games / races can change at both ends . I do think it's a dreadful deal for an extra 150k with the inconvenience for fans ; I mean i think it's agreed even that notts game would /could have been on at 3pm but there isn't even the leeway with something like that and how many will even go to the midweek 1 . Notts away similar i couldn't even go and it's a decent day out that , just shafted the fans .

None of it is fair enough, as above £150k nowhere near enough for this shite. Less than the revenue from 10k match day tickets or a few hundred season tickets.

PS. This the football world we are in - Leicester were allocated  3k tickets for the FA Cup tonight and returned 2k. We took more to Atrincham on a Tuesday night. But we weren't charged £52 a ticket with minimal concessions for a game live in TV. Fair play for Leicester fans for effectively boycotting it...

Can't wait for this one. Due to a young family my visits to football matches have abruptly dried up but I live about 20 minutes away from Walsalls ground so this is as local a game as I can hope for. Just wish it wasnt a team topping the table!!

They might not be by then. They're on a poor run of form.
