Entertaining draw!
First half we started well took the lead and then went to pieces, and in fairness could have been 3-1 down.
Second half we were much better, think Jason should have scored, put his foot through it.
Set piece delivery today was horrendously poor, we wasted so many It was infuriating.
Good to see Obikwu and Vernam back
Officials… mainly the man in the middle. Normally when refs are poor, its for both teams, this man, jesus christ. Every awful decision he gave against us, I do not think the corner for their goal was a corner, we should have had a pen, and as for bringing back an offside when we’re in the box. flipping hopeless. And its week after week after week

Apparently, according to the laws, a ref cannot play an advantage when an off-side occurs. Apart from that you are spot on, he was awful.

I would rather have had Obikwu or Van stay on instead of Luker who was very quiet in the second half

Gave advantage to Chesterfield when they broke only to bring it back when they cocked it up, when a town player was offside (probably rose 😳)

Good summary, entertaining game, good atmosphere and an awful refereeing performance - I agree the corner for their goal most certainly did not look like a corner from where I was sat. Good points were the goal from Davies, showing what he's about, the return of Vernam at last and holding our own against a top half side at home. Draw was possibly a fair result. Negatives were the awful defending in the first half that kept letting them have shots from around our right hand side of the 6 yard box. Also the inability of Wright to set up attacks early when he gets the ball and runs to the edge of his box and we have men running into space. He either doesn't have the ability or the bottle. Cass was absolutely furious with him in the first half. Still we continue to be in touch with the playoffs when it's the second half of the season so that's good.

Absolutely shocking display….from the officials. Even the linesmen looked scared to put their flags up and the DN35 ref klaxon must be exhausted.
As for the game, bits of quality from George and Jayden. Can’t argue with McJannet as MoM but I thought Lewis Cass was excellent, particularly 2nd half.

Referees often wave play on after the offside flag has been raised with the defending team in posesion. When did it change?

I must say the law surprised me when it was mentioned but it’s right, you cannot play advantage from an offside. There is the grey area, though, where a linesman flags for someone in an offside position. Being in an offside position isn’t an offence itself so the referee can deem the player to not be interfering and therefore play continues; but as he was not interfering then there won’t be an advantage as there hasn’t been an infringement. However, if the player interferes with play then play must stop.

Absolutely sick to the back teeth of officials ruining good football matches and us constantly being on the wrong end of it.
Can’t take away the fact it was a good performance against a good side, even in the first half you felt we were still more than capable of winning the game despite being up against it.
We’re so much better with Obikwu, he doesn’t even need to play well himself for us to be better either. The players are more direct and take more risks going forward which results in considerably better all round performances.
One big moan, Jordan Wright has played half a season for us now and not once in that entire time have I seen him release the ball quickly to kick start a counter attack and it’s absolutely infuriating to watch.

My moan is reserved for Jayden Luker who I thought had a poor game and left Cass exposed for practically the whole game. He’s not been great for a few weeks so perhaps needs to come out of the team for a bit.
