Has died today at 84 years of age. A hero who i grew up with in the great Man Utd era's. He graced us with his great goals and charismatic wiggles around defenders. God bless you Denis, and thank you for the sweet memories in my youth. Affections to his family on this sad day.

I remember him saying he went to play golf on the day of England’s World Cup final because he couldn’t stand the thought of England winning! I absolutely love that, as I’d do literally anything possible to avoid seeing Scotland win something big. I like the honesty, and by all accounts he was a belting player..

Amen to that although he might well be remembered for the backheel that sent Man United down.

Sorry to hear. Great player who I’m glad to say, I got the chance to see play several times. A proper feisty and fiery Scot, plenty of skill and a quality finisher. A member of the famous Man United trio with Best and Charlton, who’ve all sadly left us.
RIP Denis

Other than that backheel, I don't think I've ever seen any footage of him playing, but he was reportedly a really classy player.

Harking back to the era when footballers could be small, scrawny guys yet still be really good.

One of the finest players I’ve seen in my lifetime. RIP.

A bit before my time, but my Dad despite always being a Liverpool fan used to tell me all the time when I was young about the Holy Trinity!
He said the most gifted player he’d ever seen play was George Best but his favourite was Denis Law.

A liverpool fan’s favourite player was Denis Law?!!

In that case, I suppose I used to love Andy Flounders, deep down!!
