And for those who's Icelandic is perhaps abit rusty;
"I don't regret coming out here for a second." Jason Daði on life at Grimsby Town
"It's really nice. It's quiet off the field and it's really fun to play for Grimsby. These first few months I've been very happy," says Jason Daði Svanþórsson, a Grimsby Town player, in an interview with Fótbolta.net.
"It went well to adapt here. It took a while to settle in and get everything set up. As soon as everything was ready, you adapted quickly. Football-wise, you feel better the more you play. You connect more with your teammates," says Jason, who joined Grimsby this summer.
Very calm and good It attracted attention when Jason made the jump from Breiðablik to Grimsby last summer. Grimsby play in the English D-League, but it doesn't happen often that players make the jump there directly from Iceland. Jason has now settled in well for Grimsby and is doing well on the pitch.
"My girlfriend and I live together here in Grimsby. It's very calm. If you're looking to go out for a nice meal, shop or something, you can drive to Sheffield, Leeds or Manchester, or take the train to London. I don't miss having everything worth a million around me at all," says Jason.
"There's a difference between being here and in Iceland. I'm not doing anything but playing football here. At home you were working with it. You're not meeting friends or family after training and it's much quieter. There's a big difference here. The football is also a little different than it is at home. There's more of a struggle for position."
Need to find stability As Jason mentions, there are some differences between football in the Best League and in the English D-League. It's probably safe to say that there's more toughness in the English lower leagues.
"This is a good opportunity to be able to improve in those parts of the game that aren't necessarily the main thing in Iceland," says jaosn.
"It took a while to get into things as I got injured in the first game and went out after 30 minutes which wasn't a dream. "The last few weeks have been better and I need to build on that."
The team is doing well but it's around the play-offs. The strategy is set to be in the fight to get promoted.
"We've been around the play-offs. There's very little in between in this but the goal is to finish in the play-offs. Like every team in the world, we're looking for better stability. We can have a great performance and beat good teams but then next week we lose to a team that's lower in the league. That's something we have to improve on," says Jason.
Driving for hours Grimsby's fans are rock-solid but they have welcomed Jason well. They don't make it complicated when it comes to the nickname but he is simply called "Iceman".
"These are very good fans and are especially great at away games. A lot of people travel, often around 2000 people. They drive for hours to see us play. "They're crazy," says Jason.
"They've welcomed me well. I don't really look at what's written about me but on the pitch they're really good. Everyone I've spoken to is really friendly."
A very proud Jason has settled in well for Grimsby but he's not thinking too much about the future at the moment.
"I'm not really thinking about the future to be honest. It's always just the next game. I'm hoping we achieve our goals as a team, and of course me as an individual too. You just have to see where it takes you." "
I'm very happy here. "I think life outside of football is really great and I'm very proud to be a Grimsby player," says Jason.
Going to England is a decision he doesn't regret at all.
"I don't regret taking the step to England at all. I'm very happy. You have to stand by the decision you make. The goal for the next few years is to make sure it was the right decision. I don't regret coming here for a second. It's been amazing to experience this culture playing here in England," says Jason.
"You really feel that people here live for us and how we're doing. This matters to people and that's how it should be. You want to make them happy," the powerful winger concluded.

If he’s going out for a meal it’s Sheffield, Leeds or Manchester 😂😂😂 good lad
Just to be clear I’ve never been interested in the personal life of a football player , it’s all about what they do on the pitch and he’s done very well so far and there will be loads more to come if he sticks it out

As someone from that neck of the woods personally and been a fan of the area, I do wonder how anyone would think anyone would favour Sheffield over Grimsby, especially coming from the Town in Iceland he did.

I thought the same as you, as someone on here definitely said he was going to live in Sheffield and commute. An excellent read, lets hope he keeps improving and puts the ball in the net more often.
