Think I heard them say during the last round that they’d had them hired in especially because of the TV game. I’m sure if the cost of them made it worth it we’d have them - unsure if it would though.

Edit: Thinking about it that may have been Kidderminster. However I’d imagine it’s the same here.

I flipping well hate those animated hoardings. The fact that they allow them to animate when play is going on must surely impact the concentration of the players on occasion? Seeing the movement out of the corner of your eye. That sort of thing?

If they were static images which changed every minute or two, I wouldn't have a problem in the same way, but I really don't like the movement during the games.

I can just about tolerate the standard, electronic hoardings but this next generation of “supersized” ad boards they’ve got at Man City really boil my píss. Basically two rows of hoardings placed behind another to give the impression of a double height advert from the prepare of the main broadcast camera.

They actually reduced the capacity of the Etihad by over a thousand seats to accommodate the extra hoarding because the incremental advertising revenue was worth more than the seats themselves generated. Fúck match going fans though, eh? What have they ever done for the club?

At Elland Road yesterday they had electronic/digital adverts facing the pitch and also facing the fans on constant neon rotation. This is capped by a chain of ‘silent, expressionless stewards’ staring at supporters with glazed, android faces. Not only a distraction, but like some kind of Orwellian dystopian video game that’s unsettling, distracting and intrusive.
Hated that.

It would not bring much money in if it was not going out on a main channel.

Mostly town fans and whoever we are playing would mean a few thousand watching compared to hundred thousand of so on main stream TV.

Tech is being trialled to superimpose 'virtual' digital ads on the perimeter boards:

https://supponor.com/

So Blundell Park might be able to go straight to this phase without ever needing to install LED boards?
