My turn to start the January rumour mill !

Banned names - Bogle, Bennett, Kirk.

Wanted, sensible suggestions for players that would improve the squad.

Will we dig up another Conteh, Townsend, Matete ?

Is there a goalscorer out there to give Rose help up front ?

With our 2nd half issues, maybe we need somebody with great fitness. Perhaps that guy from Doncaster. I'm sure his name will become a regular feature in this threads in a couple of transfer windows time. Might be worth going for preemptive ban.

Will Pyke or Wilson leave is my main question , possibly even both which would free up a decent chunk of money for a decent signing or 2 in January or the summer .

I suspect transfer activity will become considerably lighter both in January and the summer as we will likely have what 16-18  players contracted come season end ; which will be great for continuity & stability but not so much for the long transfer thread on here .

Pyke is one of the highest paid players in the club. I won’t say earner for obvious reasons. We need him off the books soonest.
As for Wilson, I’ve always rated him as a finisher and something a bit different. I suspect though that he’s done here after the recent drop out and being injured until the new year. I think, (with no proof) that this is just a euphemism for a big fall out and he’ll be gone as soon as January comes round. It’ll be a shame if so.

Sorry, but 2 Luca’s and a Luker in one team is obscene

Anyway, was talking to someone who knows Andy Smith last month and he said he’s definitely going back out in Jan after that loan to Cheltenham didn’t really work out last year. His contract’s up at the end of this season but Hull have a 1 year option, so they’ll probably get him out to see if it’s worth taking up.

I liked him here in both of his spells, think he’d be a decent option on the right hand side, better with the ball than Tharme & Rodgers, reads the game well and quick for a CB.
