Didn't see that coming. If he continues as he's done for most of this season then it's astute business. I think we tend to forget the Scottish market for English free transfer starts in January and decent L2 players are being poached all the time- so if you're certain you'll be offering a player a new contract at season's end anyway, it makes sense. Also, if rumours of Rose buying a house are true, no doubt the additional time on his contract would've helped with that process, so perhaps there may also be an eye on looking after our players in that sense. Maybe Greenie is in the process of doing the same and it works for both parties. Or most likely Artell sees him being a key part of the team and he'll be hitting his prime by the 26/27 season

The new late developer like John Cockerill, whose FL career started with us age 27 - 2 promotions, no relegations and played a season of second tier. Green’s EFL career started with us age 25, apart from a couple of early appearances with Hartlepool. Just the two promotions to come…

Greens emergence as an attacking player who’s good with his feet is either Artells biggest achievement or Hursts biggest failure.

He’s been excellent since the back end of last season and he’s turning into a key player for us, so this is greaf news.

I’ve not always been his biggest fan but can’t argue he hasn’t earned and deserved that.  Glad to see him staying for another 2 years

I think you make a good point here Mappers, this season is still a building/WIP season, next season is an expectation season.

Green has worked hard in pre season by the looks of it and it’s coming good in the pitch this season to date too.
