Siena are one of those Italian teams who have lurched from one financial crisis to another but seem to be back on the rise again.
They play in black and white strips and even have a copy of our dear old Dock Tower in their lovely Piazza del Campo.

I saw them some years again Vs Chievo Verona at the top of Serie B, was great to be there in my Lotto Foodtown shirt.

Anyhow, the reason for posting this is their new shirt popped up on one of my feeds. Personally like it a lot but I’m sure others will hate. Thought you’d want to see it.

Great city, I was there one year when the palio was on (completely by accident). Assuming that's a tongue in cheek comment about them having a copy of the dock tower as theirs is the original one and outdates ours by a good 500 years or so. Lovely view from up there.

Great shirt, was in Sienna 4 years ago in motorhome, caught the bus and couldnt stamp bus pass, inspector came on and got fined 120 euros, so decided i hated the place, italians were the same as us and couldnt get near machine to stamp tickets, they got off lightly, us being English got the fine, hated Italy since and wont go back.

Yeah been a few times, possibly my favourite place in Italy. I have a nice architectural print of the tower and the Palazzo Publico on my wall. Tried telling them they copied our tower but they were having none of it.

it didn't happen did it?
Buses aren't that packed that you can't stamp your ticket - you weren't travelling in lagos or joburg were you?
n the italians weren't crowding around to prevent you stamping your ticket were they?
n it wasn't just the inspector going down the bus to find the only English person to fine was it?
n of course, you wouldn't go back to rome, naples, florence, venice, pompeii, genoa, milan, bergamo, turin, trieste, bologna, sicily, sardinia would you? all because you fecked up on on a bus trip

Interesting re bus packed. It can be like that. Amalfi coast every early and late bus packed so your practically sitting on drivers knee and holding on with the door open and only half your body in the bus and loads left behind to walk very sub continent style been there and done it.
