BTW Curmudgeon means "a bad-tempered person, especially an old one." I might be old, but not bad-tempered. If you are attacking me, do it properly, eh?
First of all you said DA didn't read TheFishy, now you say he could have. A few more replys and you will be singing from my hymn sheet. It's true we have won 5 lost 4, not bad. But I have said its a Marathon, and just because he made the bench work properly this time, what happened in the previous 8? He's learning on the job. Whilst everybody learns all the time, I expected the manager to be a nearly finished item and not an apprentice.
Correction - I never said DA didn't read The Fishy. Also nobody is too old to learn and everybody learns on the job. Different situations and circumstances often provide new problems that you learn from. Even the most experienced time-served tradesman will encounter better ways to address a problem, new techniques and better, improved materials and tools.

You absolutely hate it when we win, don't you. I can't remember seeing one post from you on the last 3 match threads, I wonder why?
Wow it's like Betelgeuse, mention the word curmudgeon and it appears

Better than expected. I hope it continues, as he's listened to The Fishy Forum, and used his bench wisely. But please remember, this is a Marathon, not a Sprint, and while the 11 game 1/4 report looks better than I thought, there is the 1/2 way report to look forward to. And like I have said before, I will be happy to be wrong, what about you?
I have always wondered what the worlds elite coaches learn as they progress into UEFA A and Pro Licenses and you’ve spilled trade secrets, they read fans forums and just tell the players “be better than the other team”. Saved myself a few grand planning my development with that little tidbit, thanks. I don’t doubt for one second you’ll be happy to be wrong but I think more of the problem lies in that you’ll be ecstatic if you’re right.

You don't " know" your merely surmise. Yes, he might read The Fishy but I doubt very much that he would be influenced by what he read on it. If indeed he was influenced by The Fishy , Hume, Rogers wouldn't be picked and Green would have gone in the summer. If the only credit you will give him is finding a GK but not engineering three wins on the bounce then you certainly are a curmudgeon.
No idea what it means but curmudgeon goes beyond word of the day and has won word of the year, congratulations!

Thoroughly entertaining, albeit tense at times, away win. Superb passing and movement for the goal. Some good football and some thoroughly committed last ditch defending. Really gives you a bit of belief for the season and a drive at the promotion/playoff end of the table. I also think that the belief Smith imparted into his defence was vital as well and shows the importance of a confident keeper, reminded me of Henderson in that way. If we can at least keep within touching distance of the playoffs whilst we have so many of our better outfield players injured then you would really have to think we'd be in with a shout come the business end of the season.
