Not good viewing for our defensive coaches, 2 identical goals which tells me they had done theory homework on our inability to defend set pieces..

Cheers Northbank,  on second viewing those goals we conceded are even worse.  We just let player get a run at the ball in the box.  The first one is bad enough with Vernam doing a god awful job marking the goal scorer but the second, no one pick up Vassell at any point, how does that happen?!

Good goal for Green, that and the disallowed goal (just stand onside Rose!) show we carry a good threat from out wide.

I'd imagine McJannet would have been the one marking Vassell, but it doesn't appear that anybody thought about trying to mark him with McJannet off the pitch. Which wasn't very clever.

Also, Barrow can put a good corner in.  We bloody can't or urine about with fancy short ones.

There's nothing wrong with trying to do something clever from a short corner and we did work our way into one or two good crossing positions from them. Unfortunately, the subsequent crosses tended to be crap! We've got several players who can put in a decent cross, so it's really disappointing that we've not done better from these set pieces.

It's the quality of their crosses compared to ours. Remember when Waterfall scored from corners, it was the cross that made them. Something we need to work on both end of the pitch

I don't think that's correct, Waterfall was just a natural at attacking the ball in both areas. The bloke would of headed a brick, I can't say the same for Rodgers and Mcjannet isn't blessed with height.

I can remember Hunt's driven corners, hard and flat the just needed a head and they few into the net. Not just Waterfall either, a few others got in on the act as well. I also remember fans asking why these corners stopped as they were so lethal.

That 2nd goal was absolutely criminal, he just sauntered in as if he was out for a Sunday stroll!

The 1st wasn't much better, but christ alive what do we do in training?
