Hard to figure out how we’ve lost that one and the only answer is only ourselves to blame, first 30 minutes we were superb, then keeper makes his 3rd mistake in 5 league games and it gave them momentum culminating in horrendous defending from Rodgers to give them number 2 on half time.
We came out. Got the goal, and really did intercourse all else. Huffed puffed but created precious little and it was the 10 men of them who created the better chances.
Changes for me came too late after the dismissal, carson looked good with some lovely balls into the box and whilst i feel a point was fair, we made it comfortable for them.
I dont think there even a good side, never liked them.
Thought our RB Warren had a good game, with noone but the 2 mentioned above having a poor game.
The individual errors prove costly again, as they did last season
Eastwood MUST be in next week, cannot concede the goals we do and expect to win games of football

All just a little predictable.
Played better but lost the game? Check
Not won back to back games again? Check
Catastrophic defensive mistake? Check
We played well overall but for me we looked unbelievably naive when the red card was given. It was a golden opportunity to grab something from the game, the coaching manual will tell you at that point to move the ball quickly and stretch the opponent, we did the exact opposite of that. Even more criminal given that’s what we’d been doing in the first half. Couple that with the fact we fell into every single time wasting trap they set and you have a game that just faded out without us having a big chance.
I’ve seen more than enough again today to suggest we’re a good side, but one or two continue to leave their brains in the dressing room.

Can’t be going into games basically already knowing we’re going to concede. We didn’t play badly at all today, but some of the usual suspects in the team let the side down again.

Possibly the most hot ive got from shouting at the TV! Anyone would be forgiven for thinking this was some cup final the amount of shouting and gesturing they’d have seen looking through the window.
As always there’s some frustrations there, always will be in any game but they’re amplified when you lose but I’m not unhappy with the overall nature of the performance.
Poor goalkeeping gifts them the lead. What was initially some good defending turned into another gift of a goal, considering they’re favourites in the league they didn’t really create anything of great note for Wright to have to save. In one hand that’s a positive but in the other it’s a great big shiny frustration because you could say that’s now 6 goals away from home that haven’t come from the opposition quality. Regardless, they count so we sit here annoyed.
Vernam scored a cracking goal but he was guilty of wasting possession so many times with either a poor touch or not being up to speed with team mates. I’m not of the belief he’s a poor player and shouldn’t be in the team but with Barrington showing a little bit of promise he needs to know his place isn’t guaranteed.
Didn’t think Rose was quite at his best today but I don’t think Wilson would have fared any better.
Ref was shocking, largely from our perspective but for them often enough too. Banks was lucky not to see more than yellow for studs over the top on mceachran. From that gamesmanship side of things they certainly won, hate it when we lose, love it when it’s in our favour.
It’s no secret that I’m a PH fan but I think this is a sizeable improvement on the football his teams played. It isn’t quite the chance after chance football we’d like but I don’t think that’s from a lack of trying. There’s something more creative in how we try to move the ball, we’re - for large parts of the game - comfortable with the ball all over the pitch, but I think when teams get their tails up a little we’re still struggling to learn how to regain control of the game.
The season is going to continue to be a frustration in my opinion because this type of performance - good in large spells with daft goals conceded and half decent chances missed - is going to be frequent until we mature, which takes time, and not just a few weeks. That said, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to keep a little secretive optimism in the back of your head that at some point in the season things will just knit together a bit more and we can put a run together. Whether we’re close enough for it mean anything is one thing but if it happens it won’t come as a shock.

We won’t do much this season unless we stop giving away silly goals. We’re not bad going forward. The first half today has been the story of the season so far and ultimately gave us too much to do even with a man advantage. On to next week.

In the car and typing this on my phone as we drive back.
Defensive errors again and a lack of an edge again up top.
Plenty of possession but not where it matters.
There was an inevitability to them scoring even when we started the match so well in terms of possession. I just felt we are always vulnerable whenever they had the ball.
Why?
Probably because we are 3/4 players light of the strength and quality we need tbh.
2 home games next versus an in form Barrow and then Bromley. 6 points may cheer me up then.
Well done to fellow away fans, superb.

Good point made earlier - we just didn’t move ball quickly & exploit extra man. It’s the 92nd minute and we’re a man up so plenty of time for square passes across the back 4.

So apart from Doug Tharme, we have Lewis Cass who can also play centre-back, but his favoured position is right-back? Is that all the options we have to partner McJannet at the back while Doug is prepping to get back in?
Lewis Cass can't be that bad of a player if that Stockport County manager signed him, he very rarely signs a excrement player even on loan.
I'll probally dream of Buck tonight flying off into space and not coming back for 500 years . . . .

Individual defensive errors cost us today.
Ref decision-making was baffling (had no effect on the game for us).
Looked good going forward. Probably should have had a go more often and played some very nice football once again.
Still missing key players with injuries, the bench especially looks weak at the moment limiting options.
We are a work in progress. We're going to be very up and down this season, and we knew the first month or two was going to be a difficult start for us. We are going to end up a midtable side this season baring some disaster, and just need to be patient

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

It feels like we are ruing our decision to have 2 keepers with less than 100 EFL appearances between them despite being 25 and 27.
That issue needs addressing pretty quickly.
