There's a two-part interview with David Burns on Cod Almighty I'd recommend reading if you haven't:

Part One
https://codalmighty.com/site/ca.php?article=9369

Part Two
https://codalmighty.com/site/ca.php?article=9370

I'd quite like him involved in the commentary again. I'm not going to start a petition to the BBC, but be interesting to know what other fans felt (after reading the article). He does say he's burnt his bridges at the BBC....guessing it's the Humber Bridge.

I remember David Burns' father from when he was at Dunlop. His first name was Pat, I do believe, and he was the manager of the Blend Department. Really nice guy and very knowledgeable about his area of expertise in the Rubber Industry.

I wonder if he knew Norris?

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

We're treading on old ground here...

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.
